Supercar d’Elegance Polo day
Sunday October 18 started off
at Supercar d’Elegance hosted
by Sam Movizio at Le Montage
for Cars ‘n Coffee at 8.00 am.
With a number of very cool cars
turning up including several
Mercedes-AMGs and an SLS, the
event dispersed around 10.00am and
the convoy to the Sydney Polo Club in
Richmond commenced.
A Supercar paddock had been set up
for the fleet and it became quickly
populated with Lamborghinis,
Ferraris and Mercedes-Benz.
Many corporate tents were setup and
champagne was free- flowing.
The standard of polo was at top
international levels, with the horses
there running the equivalent of three
times the Melbourne Cup during
the match, with the players highly
skilled in game providing an exciting
spectacle.
Many brands were present including
Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin
sadly without Merceds-Benz though!
The Supercat d’Elegance parade was
a highlight after lunch, with about
30 exotic vehicles parading around
the field, much to the adoration of the
crowd.A great day, not to be missed
out on!
MBCNSW presentation dinner
A
spooky Saturday October
31st, saw a wonderful
turnout of Mercedes-
Benz Club members at Le
Montage to celebrate Halloween, with
pretty much everyone getting into the
spirit of things (sorry for the pun)!
Our president Vince Thompson
was in great form as Count Dracula
and hosted the evening as our
accomplished Master of Ceremonies
admirably.
Of course, the main reason for being
at the evening was for the Concours
d’Elegance 2015 presentation
awards, with superb dinner and great
entertainment.
Club social director Evian Delfabbro
performed ‘meet and greet’ duties
with everyone and this year we
had the Marquee to the side of Le
Montage, which proved to be great
surroundings for this event.
After starters, the first classes of
Concours winners and runners up
were announced in classes 1 to 17.
A full list of winners and runnersup
will be published in the next
Star Torque magazine. Main course
of Lamb or Chicken appeared and a
festive, fun atmosphere was evident
throughout the evening.
After main course the remaining
class prizes were announced and
very handsome trophies were handed
out to the lucky few. Vince had spent
time raiding the Mercedes-Benz gift
shop in Stuttgart again, so many
Mercedes-Benz related raffle prizes
were on offer and a trip for two to the
Gold Coast was first prize.
We look forward to sending trophies
to winners unable to attend and thank
all the members who did attend for
making this a very special night.
