Over the last year, Middle Tennesseans proved they were up to the challenge of accelerating the prosperity of the region.
As a result of our regional collaboration over the last year:
• More than 6,000 students from Middle Tennessee are taking advantage of the Tennessee Promise, Gov. Haslam’s initiative that makes tuition at
any community college or Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) in the state free for students who graduate from high school.
• Through a groundbreaking research study, the region has a deeper understanding of the gaps between the quality of our health care industry and
health outcomes of our residents.
• More than 100 community leaders have come together through a new initiative called “Moving Forward: Transit Solutions for Our Region” to
ensure the creation of a regional transportation solution through a cohesive community effort.
There is tremendous opportunity to address the issues we are facing. Our leaders and residents have already shown an ability to work together to address priority
issues to keep Middle Tennessee moving forward. We must continue to leverage this leadership to maintain our position as a growing and prosperous region.
