MASTERING THE ART &<br />
SCIENCE OF LEADING A TRIP<br />
After trip planning, it’s time to add<br />
our special ingredient – our summer<br />
leadership team. Finding unique<br />
individuals, who can balance the fine line<br />
of safe, responsible authority with knowing<br />
when and how to be silly, is both an art and<br />
a science that we have honed over many<br />
years. We blend our seasoned veterans<br />
with the fresh ideas of newcomers who<br />
have succeeded in passing our rigorous<br />
screening and training program. All<br />
are non-smokers, certified in CPR and<br />
First aid, and take part in our extensive<br />
orientation of workshops to provide a wellsupervised<br />
and fun-filled experience.<br />
With our offices in 4 different cities, we<br />
have a staff hiring advantage in being<br />
able to meet more candidates face to face<br />
to hire the best summer leadership team<br />
for you. Last year we hired 125 staff from<br />
1112 applicants, it’s highly selective! They,<br />
along with 178 returning trip staffers, went<br />
through an extensive series of workshops.<br />
Your Trip Director and Leaders are with<br />
you daily and take on the roles of teachers,<br />
coaches, counselors, mentors, concierges<br />
and hosts. They’ve been trained to provide<br />
individual attention and create an allinclusive<br />
family atmosphere. There’s a<br />
definite art to it, and we’ve worked hard<br />
to master it so that you keep smiling from<br />
day one until hugging your many new<br />
friends goodbye at our final banquet.<br />
Your staff team is supported by and<br />
has regular contact with our Company<br />
Directors, Trip Planners and Regional<br />
Supervisors who are an incredible resource<br />
as the 24/7 support team. We can lend a<br />
hand wherever and whenever a little extra<br />
effort is called for. Last year we had 189<br />
scheduled supervisory trip visits where we<br />
made sure all was running well, provided<br />
ongoing support to our leaders in the<br />
field, and had loads of fun laughing with<br />
our groups! This investment in depth<br />
of personnel is essential to achieving<br />
consistent, excellent program quality and<br />
distinguishes our program.<br />
