expanding business in this
important export market.”
Four steps to export your
products to Japan
1. Determine what goods you
are exporting by HS Code
using the Japanese Customs
website (www.customs.go.jp).
If you are not sure which code
your product falls into, ask
your importer to check with the
Japanese Customs Office.
2. Confirm how your product is
being treated under JAEPA in
terms of tariff reductions and
tariff quota.
3. Ensure your products meet
the criteria for ‘Australian
Origin’.
4. Prepare a Certificate
of Origin (COO) for your
products. The Australian
Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (ACCI) and Australian
Industry Group (AIG) are
the accredited certifiers in
Australia. Alternatively, you
can self-certify using an Origin
Certification Document (OCD).
