THE Verrell Unit Trust has bought a
1369-square-metre industrial site, at 11 Verrell
Street, Wetherill Park, for $1.9 million from a
vendor.
Vendor sells site
A VENDOR has sold a1712-square-metre industrial
property, at 26 Penny Place. Arndell Park,
for $2.7 million, from an undisclosed vendor
Eastern Creek expansion
DB Schenker’s total occupancy in Frasers
Property Australia’s Eastern Creek Business Park,
has increased to 40,000 square metres by adding
a 4.8-hectare site, comprising a 24,250-squaremetre
warehouse and a 250-square-metre office.
Green’s short-listed
GREEN’S Food Holdings, based at Glendenning,
with revenues growing at almost $40 per
cent this year, has been short-listed a a finalist for
the 2015 Australian Growth Company Awards.
Sold for $18.65 million
MELBOURNE-based funds manager, Peak
Equities, has sold a 3177-square-metre building,
at16-18 Bridge Street, Epping, for $18.65 million,
to a not-for-profit aged care provider. Peak
purchased the building for $14.2 million from
Centuria in 2012.
Quest Bella Vista
QUEST Serviced Apartments, which is seeking
new franchises to keep up with rapid demand,
plans to open Quest Bella Vista in the next 12
months.

Library wins award
BANKSTOWN Library and Knowledge
Centre won the top interior architecture award
in the 2015 Australian Institute of Architects’
National Architecture Awards. Francis Jones
Morehen Thorp was the winning firm.
2500 New homes
PLANS for 2500 new homes to be built
near Leppington station have been unveiled
by the NSW government. It is the first stage
in a rezoning process that will eventually see
about 9,000 homes built in the suburb
Professor wins gold
PROFESSOR Michael Barton, research
director, of the Ingham Institute, in Liverpool,
has been awarded a gold medal for his work in
improving radiotherapy services and treatment
for cancer patients, the by Royal Australian
and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Plaza sold for $90 million
THE Charter Hall Group has finalised a
deal to buy the 19,600-square-metre Bass Hill
Plaza from the Singapore-based the private
company, Memo Corporation, for just over
$90 million. The shopping centre, which is
anchored by Woolworths and Kmart outlets
and includes 53 specialty stores, also offers
another 46,600 square metres of additional
residential and retail development.
Planning law changes
LIVERPOOL City Council’s new planning
laws, approved by the NSW government,
will see more than 242,000 square
metres of the city centre converted from
commercial to mixed use space
High school sale
THE sale of the 140-hectare Hurlstone
Agriculture High School site is expected
to net the NSW government $170 million.
The site will become the Glenfield High
School with up to 110m000 new dwellings
built on the former agricultural land
surrounding it. The Hurlstone Agriculture
High School will relocate to the Western
Sydney University Hawkesbury campus
from 2020.
Plaza sold for $90 million
BASS Hill Plaza has been sold by
investment company Memocorp Australia
for more than $90 million by Charter Hall
Group, which acquired the Hume Highway
centre after Memocorp Australia had owned
the complex for the past 25 years. The
two-level shopping centre includes Kmart,
Woolworths, Aldi and 53 specialty stores.

$100,000 for study
PARRAMATTA City Council has approved
$100,000 for a business case study
to examine whether to refurbish the existing
Riverside Theatres or build a new facility.

Bentley Safes leases
BENTLEY Safes has leased a
965-square-metre site, at unit 48, Slough
Business Park, Silverwater, from a private
investor, for three years, at $125 a square
metre net
Uni and Optus deal
MACQUARIE University and Optus
have partnered to offer a cadetship program
to engineering students, launched earlier
this year. The cadetship program is offered
to students who major in telecommunications
engineering. Successful students will
be paid to study through their degree and
will accrue work experience with Optus in
their semester breaks.
EOI in Mercure
EXPRESSIONS of interest in the
165-room Mercure Hotel, at Rosehill, have
closed. The 4997-square-metre site has
“mixed-use/residential”.
Start this year
PARRAMATTA City Council expects
construction work on the 41-storey, $260
million residential Riverside Tower, on the
site of the Lennox Bridge carpark, behind
the restaurant precinct in Church Street, to
start next year. Council and Lidis are coventurers
in the project.

THE NSW Department of Planning &
Environment is considering submissions to
the exhibition of a development application
by the Health Administration Corporation
for an eight-storey carpark, at Westmead
Hospital.
Lester buys property
THE Perth-based Lester Group
paid $14.56 million for a four-level,
3887-square-metre commercial office
property, at 12 Waterloo Road, in Macquarie
Park.
