Eduardo Arranz-Bravo (b. 1941)
Arranz-Bravo is an established artist living and working in Barcelona. Known for his tremendous talent as an oil painter,
his work is steeped in the tradition of the great Catalan artists who have come before him. He achieved success early,
being mentored by Joan Miró in the 60’s, and featured in a group show with Picasso at the famous Galerie Gaspar. You
can still see the influence of Miró in his current work, fifty years later. The common ground, though, is more likely to be
the uniquely crisp light in the Barcelona area, inspiring some of the 20 th Century’s greatest artists – Dali, Picasso, Miró
and now Arranz-Bravo. Although he has 40 years of exhibition history, his great accomplishment is the establishment
of the Fundacio Arranz-Bravo, his museum founded in 2009. His most recent museum exhibition, “Magnus”, a
retrospective of monumental paintings, is touring several museums in Spain in 2014-2015. His work can also be found in
prestigious museum collections such as the Reina Sofia and Museu d'Arte Moderna, São Paulo, Brazil.
