Public Library
We asked our community of patrons, staff and volunteers to tell us what makes them
proud of Nashville Public Library.
I’m proud of NPL because…
We are active in
outreach. We don’t wait
for Nashville to come to us,
we go to them. Thousands of
preschoolers will experience a quality story
time or puppet show throughout Davidson
County this year, regardless of whether
they set foot in a library. For many children,
Bringing Books to Life is their first public
library experience – and what an impactful
first impression that makes!
I am proud of NPL
for engaging the next
generation of library
supporters. I find that
young professionals are at
a crucial life stage to capture their interest
in the library. Many will make mention that
the last time they enjoyed reading was
as a child, and many of their more recent
years were spent with required reading and
textbooks for classes. There are countless
programs at NPL that go beyond the
book to offer our community something
truly valuable, and by engaging the next
generation of Nashvillians, we can ensure
the library will continue to impact our city
for years to come.
