Solid State Battery Isolators<br />
The units are a fully electronic ‘master/kill switch’ system<br />
designed specifically for competition car applications, in<br />
accordance with FIA safety regulations. The systems contain<br />
no moving parts and their solid construction provides high<br />
resistance to shock, vibration, water and dirt.<br />
The Cartek GT Battery Isolator units perform the battery<br />
disconnection function by breaking the connection between<br />
the NEGATIVE battery terminal and CHASSIS-EARTH. The<br />
engine stop function is performed by cutting 12v power<br />
to the engine electrics, e.g. ECU. The electronic isolation<br />
circuits are controlled by a microprocessor and incorporate<br />
various safety systems including over-temperature and<br />
over-current monitoring. The microprocessor also monitors<br />
the kill switches/buttons for instant activation without false<br />
triggering. The unit will instantly trigger into isolation mode<br />
when any of the kill buttons are struck or on detection of<br />
any fault or break in switch wiring circuits. It also provides<br />
alternator protection during engine run-down without the<br />
need for additional components such as load-dump resistors<br />
or diodes.<br />
The XS Battery Isolator performs the battery disconnection<br />
function by breaking the connection between the NEGATIVE<br />
battery terminal and CHASSIS-EARTH. The Battery Isolator<br />
XS performs the engine kill function by outputing a signal<br />
which can be used to enable/disable ECUs or PDMs or used<br />
to control an engine relay.<br />

Cartek GT Battery Isolator<br />
Suitable for nearly all race and rally car applications. A<br />
very small and highly reliable alternative to the traditional<br />
mechanical master-switch and has been designed to<br />
overcome all of the problems and restrictions associated<br />
with mechanical and electro/mechanical safety cut-outs.<br />

previous ‘standard’ and GT Isolators, this new XS version<br />
offers even more benefits and performance when<br />
compared with traditional mechanical master-switches<br />

CAN-Bus Signal Converter<br />
The CAN-Bus Signal Converter is suitable<br />
for cars that are equipped with CAN-Bus<br />
and do not have separate RPM and Kmh/h<br />
signal wires. This device can be connected<br />
to the car’s CAN-Bus cables and outputs<br />
the required RPM and Km/h signals on<br />
separate wires suitable for the Sequential<br />

Coolant Level Alarm<br />
An early warning system should their engine<br />
cooling system develop a leak, whether it be from<br />
a punctured radiator, loose hose or gasket failure<br />
before overheating and engine damage occurs.<br />
The Coolant Level Alarm consists of an aluminium<br />
sensor tube which is simply fitted in-line with the<br />
engine’s radiator hose.<br />
The coolant detection electronics are built into<br />
this sensor with a 3-pin plug for power<br />
input and an alarm signal output. This<br />
alarm output can be used to alert<br />
the driver in a variety of ways<br />
including activating a dashboard<br />
LED indicator, audible buzzer or it can be used<br />
to provide the car’s ECU or driver display with a fault<br />
detection input signal. The sensor also incorporates<br />
Red and Green LEDs which offers mechanics a<br />
continuous indication of the coolant status.<br />
