THE COUNTRY
The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships is one
of the most important races of the year and on
the 4th of September 2016 all eyes in the Triathlon
scene will be on Australia, where the very best
athletes in the world will stand on the starting line
in order to determine their champion. The swim
will take place at the spectacular Mooloolaba surf
beach. The 1,9km one-lap swim course runs parallel
to the shore. The athletes will then proceed
to bike 90km on a fast course, also consisting of an
out and back loop. Finally, the two loop half-marathon
will lead you along the promenade past
enthusiastic spectators. The IRONMAN 70.3 World
Championships finish line is located right in the
heart of Mooloolaba.
Mooloolaba is an idyllic surfer’s paradise in
Queensland, right on the Australian Sunshine
Coast. The Brisbane airport is located about
100km from there. The city, as well as the region,
has the reputation of being a Triathlon Mecca,
famous well beyond Australia’s borders. It
is not for nothing that pros like Jan Frodeno or
Caroline Steffen spend several months per year
on the Sunshine Coast to prepare for their race
highlights. Several triathlons and endurance
events are organised there since 1993, among
others World Cup races with the best short course
Triathletes.
Contrary to what one might expect in Australia,
temperatures are pleasant (especially in September)
and the hinterland is surprisingly green instead
of desertic. Breathtaking sceneries as well as
magnificent trip destinations such as the Noosa
National Park, Glass House Mountains or Mount
Column are just a few kilometers away from
Mooloolaba and they will invite you to go on an
excursion before or after the race.
Australia is a land of amazement, discoveries
and new experiences. Take advantage of your

Championships and combine it with a trip through
one of the world’s most remarkable countries.
The Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast
are worth visiting on their own, but they also

crystal-clear brooks and torrential streams

OUR RESORT Oaks Seaforth
Our accommodation is located a mere four kilometers
from the start & finish line and its location
offers a perfect starting point for the last important
training sessions before the race. The Maroochydore
Beach stretches right across the facility. You
will be able to relax in a spa, sauna or pool after
training or racing. You will find bars, restaurants
and shops easily accessible by foot.
We have a choice of 1 or 2 Bedroom apartments,
both featuring a fully-equipped kitchen, a
living room and bedroom(s) as well as 1 or 2 bathrooms.
All beds can also be used as single beds.
All apartments also include a washing machine,
a TV and a DVD player. HHT clients will receive
free Internet access.

Citizens of countries belonging to the European Union as well
as Switzerland will need a passport valid for the whole duration
of their stay as well as a visa obtained prior to their departure in
order to enter Australia. Obtainment of the visa is done online
through the „eVisitor“ programmme. Access as well detailed
information under www.immi.gov.au – the visa is valid for 12
months and allows a stay of maximum 3 months. Information
without engagement and valid as of December 2015.
Important: each travel guest is solely responsible for their
own entry formalities for entering Australia.
