Welcome!
...to our selection of 2016 Holiday
options, for you, your family, your
youth group and your friends.
“Where is Capernwray?”...It is at the HEART of the UK! 412
miles from Lands End and 433 miles from John O’Groats we
are (almost!) geographically at the heart of the UK! North West
England is a beautiful area and Capernwray Hall is an idyllic
setting for all ages where our staff provide a fun, caring and
creative programme for your holiday. All of our holidays at
Capernwray Hall are full board – all meals provided. Our various
buildings house our accommodation, swimming pool, sports
hall, dining hall and Conference Hall, and at the heart of the old
hall is ‘The Courtyard’ favoured site of carnivals, ceilidhs and
catching-up. At the heart of the courtyard is ‘The Beehive’ our
snack-shop, coffee-shop where many have enjoyed milk shakes
and ice-creams over the years.
Venture abroad with us in 2016 to Spain or Israel to enjoy quite
different breaks that are both offered to
inspire and encourage.
At the heart of our mission we invite
our guests to discover for themselves
Biblical truths and at the heart of that
book is Jesus Christ – whose heart is
for His Father and for you!

We have a lot to offer...
There’s something for everyone
Each break includes full board accommodation and a great selection
of activities each day. Sports equipment is freely available. From early
morning swims to evening bonfires, there is great variety. Some options
are limited in number or specific ages - these may carry an additional
charge to be fair to all.

The BIG question for CONNECT:2016 is “What’s at the Heart?” We
have challenged Steve Cowles to unlock the secret of the Bible for
us at CONNECT:2016. He is looking forward to investigating and
explaining what is at the heart of the Bible. Through video clips,
Men’s Weekend | For Men 18+
Dates | Friday 9 Sept – Sunday 11 Sept
Speaker| John Lewis
Come and enjoy a weekend break filled with excellent Bible teaching,
stirring worship and hearty food. That seems like a great recipe for a
worthwhile Men’s Weekend!
There are great facilities for you to enjoy on your own or with your church
group. Early morning swimming, indoor football or a visit to the clay shoot
can fill the leisure time. Or slow down in the coffee shop, the lounges, or
just sleep! You will be welcomed, encouraged and challenged. Weekends
are valuable - this will be one well spent.
John Lewis’ teaching title is “Sorted” and will take us through
sessions looking at what it means to be a ‘man of God’ in todays
world:
1. Man in his home
2. Man in his workplace
3. Man in his community
4. Man in church
5. Man in his ministry
John Lewis is Senior Pastor and Team Leader at Portstewart Baptist
Church in Northern Ireland which is a Christ-centred contemporary Word
and Spirit church serving the North Coast community and attracting over
10000 visitors each summer. He is married to Mandy and has five children,
he enjoys swimming, skiing, surfing, sports and a good curry! John was
born in Tanzania, brought up in Oldham, and became a Christian in 1975
whilst travelling the world training as a navigator on super-tankers. John
started his ministry in schools and youth outreach in Greater Manchester
and has successfully led churches in the UK, which have been blessed
with growth, as well as drawing church leaders together to be encouraged
and envisioned in mission.
Impact: 2016 | For Adults 18–25
Dates | Saturday 27 Aug – Saturday 3 Sept
Speaker| Andy Woof
An excellent break at the end of summer, only for 18–25 year olds. Great
fun in an amazing place - meet some friends, make some memories, hear
some truth!
The world needs the IMPACT: that solid base to know that life is not
random and life is not chance. We’ll walk through some issues, and talk
through some of the tough calls - and discover how we can all impact the
world we live in. And through our Bible teaching, we’ll see how the Saviour
of people from all over our land and world can impact us individually. Get
impacted with a plan for your life - and every day is an adventure. .
Can Jesus really meet the deepest yearnings of your life? Does He
really have anything to say about the issues that you face?
At IMPACT:2016 we will be looking at how Jesus wants to
encounter us personally and deeply and show us that He is totally
sufficient for our lives. Looking at personal encounters that Jesus
had with individuals, we will be exploring key topics such as money,
relationships, faith, salvation, fear, suffering and fulfilment.
Summer Studies | For Over 18s
Dates
| Saturday 3 Sept – Friday 9 Sept
Speakers | John Lewis, Seidel Abel Boanerges, & Rob Whittaker
Set aside a week this summer to be immersed in Bible teaching. You
have the opportunity to return to the classroom in Summer Studies, not
in preparation for an exam or to gain a qualification but we invite you to
spend time as we learn more about God, His character, His life on earth as
Jesus Christ and His call on our lives to tell others the Good News – God
saves through Christ – the heart of the Gospel!
Teaching Topic: “Just Jesus” (7 lectures) John Lewis
Through studies in Matthew’s Gospel, John will lead us in developing a
grasp of King Jesus and His kingdom and how it should shape our lives
today. For too long (as J.B. Phillips said) ‘our God has been too small’ but
equally our view of the Gospel has also been too small. So let us change
that - in Summer Studies 2016 the series at the heart of the week is ‘Just
Jesus’ giving us a fresh look at the King and His teaching on the Kingdom.
Teaching Topic: “Confident Christianity” (5 lectures) Seidel Abel Boanerges
Currently, we live in an ever changing, postmodern, post-Christian, post
everything culture! Christianity is under attack. From media to government,
from pop culture to high art, we see both intelligent objections and
superficial ridicule. At such a time as this, we need to be able to confidently
stand and defend our faith. These sessions on apologetics are a fantastic
opportunity for in-depth teaching and mutual encouragement in the task
of effective evangelism. The material will empower preaching, enrich
evangelism and inform all our ministries. This course will not only help you
to defend your faith, but also to present the gospel meaningfully to a nonbeliever.
Teaching Topic: “Theology 101…continued!” (5 lectures) Rob Whittaker
Rob continues his exploration of this vital subject taking us deeper into the
character and heart of God. He says, “I am increasingly convinced that as
we study theology, we are actually worshipping and loving our Lord. My
experience is that as I do that, I am transformed into the best version of
myself.”
