Time to spare?
Adult Volunteers Required!
Over the age of 18 and looking for a new
challenge yourself? Our group numbers
have seen significant growth over the last
few months, and we’re desperately looking
for more help with Adult Roles.
It’s our Birthday !
Thornton’s Cub Pack, along with the rest of
the UK’s Cubs, will this year be celebrating
the Sections 100th Birthday!
Aimed at 8- 10½ year olds, and founded
9 Years after the formation of the Scout
Section, the Cub pack’s framework is based
around Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book story,
with excitement and adventure as core
values – ideals we still promote today!
Over the course of the year our Cubs will have
the opportunity to take part in a number of
unique events and activities.
Gone are the days where Scouting was purely
for boys – did you know that almost 50% of
our groups youth members are girls?
Helping out doesn’t necessarily mean we
need you to take on a weekly role Whether
you can commit to an Assistant leader role,
help us with funding and grant applications,
or if you’re just a big kid and want to join the
adventure as an occasional helper when you
can we would be delighted to hear from you!

Growth for Thornton Scout Group
The results of our annual Census show a
significant growth in our group numbers
over the past year, with the group now
supporting 68 local youngsters between 6
and 18 years of age!
Our Cub and Scout sections, based at
Thornton Primary School have opportunities
for new members to boost our already strong
group. Our Beaver Section presently has a
waiting list for new members.
