Topcon Corporation was founded in 1932 by specializing in the production of
optical instruments. The company has expanded over the decades into a globally
active multinational business group with subsidiaries in Asia, America and
Europe. Our Dutch subsidiary ttec delivers tailor-made MDD-certified PCs for
optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems made by Topcon. Topcon profits
enormously from ttec’s broad service portfolio and holds a unique position on
the market with its MDD-certified PC systems.

The all-round concept of this custom-made solution is what impressed KÜSTER
most when working with transtec AG: the Oracle-certified and high-performance
transtec system hardware together with our support. The solution also includes
cluster hardware and HA system support provided 24/7 by transtec.
The deployed solution provides the basis for the production management
system database which controls two production divisions in 24/7 operation
for high-availability production. The database must have access to a minimum
performance (max. latency time 100ms) at all times as database downtimes or
data loss would otherwise lead to production stops and a violation of the legal
obligation to record data.
