Alumni Chapter Golf Outings a Success
for the Leadership Foundation!
The LA Alumni Chapter held its first-ever golf
classic February 24 and the Atlanta Alumni
Chapter celebrated its 3rd Annual tournament
April 29—both fundraisers for the
Leadership Foundation. Our sincere thanks
to all participants!
Los Angeles
The LA Alumni Chapter held its first-ever
Golf Classic on February 24, kicking off the
Western LEAD Provincial Conference in Anaheim and
raising $3,300 for our local South Pacific Region Endowment
Fund (within the Leadership Foundation)! RiverView Golf
Course was host to our most successful development event yet.
The day started with the “Four Founders Putting Contest,” followed
by 25 alumni (some with initiation dates back to 1949!)
and collegians enjoying 18 holes of golf. Holes were staffed by
collegiate volunteers from Southern California, Loyola
Marymount, Cal State-Northridge, and UCLA, who made sure
that no mulligan went unsold. Players were able to test their
golf and memory skills by participating in tee games such as the
Rose of Deltasig Sing-Along, Longest Drive, Closest to the
Pledge Pin and Name That Greek Alphabet. Congratulations go
to brothers from UCLA who took home first place, followed by
Southern Cal in second!
Later that evening, over 60 brothers, including Western
Provincial Vice President Chuck Brown, all Western Province
RVPs, Past Grand President Kathy Jahnke and Leadership
Stone Mountain Golf Club played host to the Atlanta Alumni Chapter’s
3rd Annual Golf Tournament. Enjoying the festivities (thanks to the sponsors
noted on the signs) were (from left) Corey Nason, Danny Gaines,
Kennesaw State, Barrett Carter, Georgia State, Georgia District Director
Kevin and Donna Zachman, with daughter, Audrey, and Jeff, Kennesaw
State, and Kate Blanchard.

Foundation President Greg Howell attended
the dinner and awards program. A raffle and
silent auction topped off our financial goal of
doing a little bit better than breaking even,
by bringing in an additional $1,000. On
Saturday morning at the LEAD Provincial,
the LA Alumni Chapter was pleased to present
the Leadership Foundation with a
grand total $3,300 in checks and cash donations
for the South Pacific Region Endowment

We started the weekend’s events with a cocktail party
Friday evening at the Vining’s Grill where several brothers met
to enjoy food, fellowship and talking up the next day’s events.
The tournament kicked off Saturday morning. With its gorgeous
views of historic Stone Mountain and challenging
championship holes of golf, the Lakemont Course of the
Stone Mountain Golf Club provided the perfect setting for the
tournament. After the tournament, awards were handed out
and later the group went to the Stone Mountain Park Laser
Show Pavilion to enjoy a picnic and laser show. With the
efforts of the Atlanta Alumni Chapter and our sponsors, the
3rd Annual Atlanta Alumni Chapter Golf Tournament raised
nearly $4800 to benefit the Leadership Foundation.
