<strong>2015</strong> SAH Annual International Conference:<br />

Chicago at the Global Crossroads<br />

The Society of <strong>Architectural</strong> Historians (SAH) will celebrate its 75th<br />

anniversary during this conference, which includes lectures, roundtables,<br />

and 36 paper sessions covering topics in architecture, art and<br />

architectural history, preservation, landscape architecture, and the<br />

built environment. SAH is committed to engaging both conference<br />

attendees and local participants with public programming that<br />

includes more than 30 architectural tours, a plenary talk, and a halfday<br />

seminar addressing Chicago’s waterways and neighborhoods.<br />

<strong>2015</strong> AIANY Design Awards<br />

Submission deadline: February 6, <strong>2015</strong><br />

AIA New York’s annual Design Awards Program recognizes outstanding<br />

architectural design by AIA New York Chapter members, New York<br />

City–based architects in any location, and work in New York City by<br />

architects around the globe. The purpose of the awards program is to<br />

honor the architects, clients, and consultants who collaborate to achieve<br />

design excellence. Submissions that reflect a broad and inclusive<br />

definition of design excellence are encouraged. Submissions must exhibit<br />

design achievement that demonstrates exemplary skill and creativity in<br />

the resolution and integration of formal, functional, and technical<br />

requirements, including ecological stewardship and social responsibility.<br />

CitiesAlive: Call for Papers<br />

This call for papers is an opportunity to present groundbreaking<br />

research, novel policy changes, or innovative design case study to a<br />

highly interested group of green-roof and -wall enthusiasts at the<br />

CitiesAlive conference. CitiesAlive is heading to the Big Apple for the<br />

first time in October <strong>2015</strong> and expects to draw 1,000 delegates. They<br />

will work to explore and showcase underutilized living-architecture<br />
