- to share innovation strategies and to discuss the best practices on how to support SMEs and to<br />
turn innovations into products in the areas of photonics and advanced manufacturing;<br />
- to discuss how policy programmes and instruments at different levels can be applied in the<br />
interest of the regional and European competitiveness;<br />
- to discover the power of photonics as a key enabling technology and to improve the<br />
understanding of photonics and what it can do for your region.<br />
The workshop provided several presentations outlining regional policies, and smart specialization<br />
strategies as well as first experiences and lessons learnt on combining ESIF and Horizon 2020 funds in<br />
single projects. Approximately 30 participants, mainly from national technology platforms, clusters and<br />
regional authorities, contributed to the workshop.<br />
