Winemaker’s
Wine
101
dinner to be held March 19
Making wine is an art and a science
and winemaker Sam Jennings
with Round Lake Vineyards
& Winery will be sharing some
of his knowledge about the process.
On Saturday, March 19, Round Lake
Vineyards & Winery will be hosting a
Winemaker’s Dinner. It will feature a
four-course meal, wine and fun conversation.
The dinner will get started
at 6 p.m.
“This will be a smaller intimate dinner
and it will be a chance to learn a
little more from the winemaker, Sam
Jennings,” said Tailyr Hansen, the
event planner at Round Lake Vineyards
& Winery. “Sam will sit down
with the group and have dinner with
them and share stories about his experiences
in winemaking. He’s traveled a
lot in his previous jobs.”
The organizers of the event are intentionally
keeping the event small
with spots available for only 30-40
people.
“We wanted to keep it a smaller
event so people could have more time
to talk with Sam,” Hansen said.
There is still seating available for the
event, but it is limited to the members
of the Wine Club. If you are interested
in the event and you aren’t a Wine
Club Member, you can still sign up
today and come to the dinner.
The four courses for the dinner include
an appetizer, Waldorf salad, the
choice of a stuffed pork loin or wild
mushroom stuffed ravioli with potatoes
and a vegetable. Each course will
be paired with a different wine. Dessert
will be paired with the winery’s
apple ice wine, which is not normally
available for tasting.
“Each course will served with a different
wine and Sam will talk about
the wine pairings with the food and
why they work,” Hansen said. “If
anyone has any questions about anything
he does or what happens in the
winery, they’ll be able to ask Sam at
dinner.”
The dinner will take place in the
tank room, which is a special spot for
the event to take place.
“The whole atmosphere will be very
unique and cool,” Hansen said. “We’ll
be having a dinner to learn about
wine and the wine-making process
in the very room where we do that. It
will be a very cool event.” F
