our church family — The Living Last<br />
Supper. It’s a dramatization of Leonardo<br />
Da Vinci’s painting of the same name.<br />

since my husband became involved over a<br />
decade ago. It later became a family affair<br />
when our son at the age of 10 became an<br />
apprentice for the lighting board. He’s handled<br />
that task on his own every year since<br />
and this year has started teaching someone<br />
to take over for him.<br />
He also filled in last week for one of the<br />
disciples who had a scheduling conflict. It<br />
amazed me how quickly Sam memorized<br />
two long paragraphs of monologue. I<br />
would have worked on that for two months,<br />
and it took him about two days. I suppose<br />
the fact that Sam has seen the show so<br />
many times helped him pick it up quickly.<br />
When he woke up the morning of the<br />
performance with a dreadful head cold<br />
and hacking cough, I immediately shifted<br />
into Dr. Mom mode and loaded him up<br />
with “severe cold and flu” medicine. The<br />
label claimed this product covered nearly<br />
every symptom imaginable, but after he<br />
swallowed the second dose I noticed “this<br />
product may cause drowsiness” and had a<br />

Apparently he wasn’t susceptible to that<br />
side effect, so all was well.<br />
