INSPIRE LEADERS MAKERS: "The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery." -- Mark van Doren
Teachers are often criticised these days.
They get things wrong. They don't have
enough time. Or they're being (falsely)
accused of the worst kinds of acts against
children.
Teachers like Mr Middleton who in junior school seemed to be
one of the few adults in my life who was actively interested and
proud of my sporting prowess.
Teachers like Mr Bell who created a strong, secure environment
in the classroom (he taught maths) so I was able learn without
interruption and get an A grade in my final high school exams
(UK O-level, now known as GCSE).
So, it's to these teachers who inspired me, and to the teachers
who may have inspired you, that I share these inspirational
teacher quotes.
And if you are a teacher reading this, I say "thank you", and
hope you can stay inspired to continue teaching in this toughest
of professions...
(How teachers must love finding themselves reviewed,
judged and commented on at RateMyTeachers.com!)
"The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery." -- Mark
van Doren
Teaching is, and always has been, a tough, demanding job
where the impact - both good and bad - is often felt years and
years later by the pupil.
And the profession of teaching must be one of the most
interfered with - government after government (that thinks
they know best) changing curriculum, dabbling with discipline,
and generally messing with the teacher mojo!
And, a bit like being a referee in sport, people only seem to
notice a teacher's mistakes.
Yes, I shall never forget discovering the natural beauty of mathematics at 6th
form - ideas like how the Fibonacci Numbers can be found in nature, or how the
Egyptians (and others) used the golden ratio in their architecture (think the
pyramids).
These things weren't on the syllabus, but they inspired (and continue to inspire)
my imagination and my love of mathematics. Thank you.
And I do not speak as a teacher here, but as a former pupil
who experienced his fair share of 'bad' teachers - teachers
who, for example, couldn't control the class or (perhaps
worse) who controlled the class (with fear) too much.
Still, I prefer to remember the teachers that inspired me, and
encouraged me, and allowed me to develop.
"The secret of teaching is to appear to have known all your life what you learned
this afternoon." -- Anonymous
Well, the more I share what I know in informal teaching and training, or via
writing articles like these, the more I realise the truth of this statement. Always
be one step ahead of the pupil and you'll be fine, I guess.(Continue on next
Study: about slowing down aging, and the continuous
search for the fountain of youth. To stay young is the
outmost healthy you mentally and physically the quest for
more out of life.
LONG WALKS
If anything i benefit out of
going to Starbucks early as
they open is to read, browse,
post, and publish. I’am about
to share with you the best
secret to slowing down aging.
yes from a Starbuck customer,
who everyday came to drink
his early coffee too, and to
read. As he set next to me, i
often chated with the old man,
i ask for him to also watch my
table as i went for my refill, or
out busy talking to friends.
what if we could delay the aging process? Not reverse it
Benjamin Button-style; just slow it down, so the diseases
that typically accompany aging, especially as you move
into your 60s and 70s, don’t show up until years later?
Imagine how slowing aging would ease the burdens on the
health care system and economy. If the crush of older
people could extend their health span — that is, the years
they stay healthy as they age — it would profoundly
improve their quality of life and cut down on the vast
resources needed to treat them.
Jan+Feb/16
(More: A Forbes Study on Slowing Down Aging)
I asked him the genuine
question: what is your secret
of staying young?.
He reply: long walks.
As simple as may be his
answer, as genuine and
correct at heart, many MD
advise about healthier living is
use walking as an exercise.
I have in the past spoke great
deal with friends and family
about how walking is a
wonder healthy exercise. That
a lot of people prefer running
as a fast remedy and quick fix
to a healthy exercise. Long
walks is the absolute healthy
exercise leading to staying in
shape and young. By
eddieadel Publisher.
Dr. Nir Barzilai, director of the Institute for Aging Research
at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, believes he’s
found a way to do just that: to mirror the slow aging of the
centenarians he has studied using a drug shown to have an
anti-aging effect in some animals. In answer to skeptics
who bristle at the thought of another “anti-aging charlatan”
selling an elixir, Barzilai is quick to insist that this is hard
science, not quackery or some mad chase for the fountain
of youth.
His quest to prove that he’s discovered a game-changer in
the history of aging research is the subject of a fascinating
new episode of Breakthrough, a documentary series
produced by Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment that
explores cutting-edge science. (
RESEARCH: The effect of bad
use of protein on the heart…..
With skeletal muscles (the muscles of our arms,
legs, stomach, etc.) exercise will strengthen,
tone, and enlarge them. This is often the goal of
exercise. Creatine helps this process by
providing some of the building blocks of muscle
growth and recovery.
The heart is a unique muscle. It has to do two
things actively over 100,000 times per day. The
most obvious is that is has to squeeze and
pump blood throughout the body. In people that
increase the work load of the heart, such as
those that develop high blood pressure, sleep
apnea, or obesity, the heart muscle thickens to
meet the demand. However, the heart also has
to actively relax to quickly accept the returning
blood. This second action of the heart
(relaxation) is often overlooked, but it is equally
important. If the heart stiffens and thickens, the
time it takes to relax increases. The heart
increases its rate during exercise or other forms
of stress or excitement by shortening the time it
takes to relax. If the heart is too stiff to relax
quickly, then during fast heart rates the heart
actually becomes less efficient. As a
consequence symptoms of shortness of breath
and exercise intolerance develop. As a
consequence, of your many muscles, the one
that you don’t want thickened or hypertrophied is
the heart. In this regard, if chronic creatine
supplementation stiffens or thickens the heart
then its use may be harmful over time. Read
Protein: Pros, Cons
Jan+Feb/16
People who want to build muscles and recover well from workouts are often confused by ads for protein
supplements. How much and what kinds of protein should athletes consume? And can egg whites and
chicken can do the job? The following information can help you optimize your protein intake--and offer
peace of mind.
Question: How much protein should I eat right after I exercise?
Answer: A study with Marines during 54 days of basic training reports those who refueled with 100
calories of a recovery drink that contained only 10 grams (40 calories) of protein not only enhanced
muscle protein deposition but also contributed to 33 percent fewer total medical visits, 28 percent fewer
visits due to bacterial and viral infections, 37 percent fewer visits due to muscle and joint problems, and
83 percent fewer visits due to heat exhaustion. (Flakoll,Med Sci Sports and Exercise, 2004)
Seems amazing that just 100 calories of a recovery drink could make such a strong impact on health,
muscle soreness and hydration, but the message is clear: proper fueling at the right times is worth the
effort. Don't underestimate the value of refueling soon after you exercise. Cereal with milk, chocolate
milk, fruit yogurt, turkey sandwich and spaghetti with meatballs are just a few suggestions that offer a
foundation of carbs accompanied with some protein. More at
How Much Protein?
Most Americans get should get
10%-30% of their calories from
protein. With a high-protein diet, it
can be much more than that.
Protein may be half of your day’s
calories. Most of this extra protein
comes from animal sources like
meat, eggs, and cheese. Often,
these diets severely restrict foods
like cereals, grains, fruits, and
vegetables.
FASHION
COMMUNICATION
Fashion is dress code appeal once
it is turned to a style and a fashion
statement medium it become an
expression as a communication
mode and a language style by all
mean you are told as equal and
similar to”let your body talk”.
Facts are fashion statement
(communication) is different. body
talk or body language is the effect
of body part or and the entire body
on the person who actually
conversing with you. To move
forward or smile as to agree on
something. to act depress using
facial expressions is to disagree.
Why Fashion?
The overall scope of an extra large global business is under (Fashion and
the mega Industry Behind it. United States economy took a sharp curve
for the large amount of losses to the global market in the garment
industry. This is only one part of the fashion business.
Universities around the world continue to develop the fashion education
programs they offer, and many have cover the fashion industry very well.
Among the degrees offered are those within the range of Fashion
communication both undergraduate degrees and in the Master Programs.
On your own time you can search for the school of your choice that fit
your future career desire in the fashion industry, but i like to share with
you what this Italian Graduate school included in the information package
for the Master program offered in Fashion Communication:
-Structure and methodology:
The strength of the Master in Fashion Communication and Styling is the
combination of theoretical contents, analysis and study of the
manufacturers of the most successful fashion, and practical activities,
carried out in collaboration with companies and industry professional
practitioners in an international context.
on the contrary fashion statement
(communication) is soley based on
your fashion style using color, size,
logo, zippers or buttons, short or
long, and other related fashion
parts to make a statement.
The course aims to form a Fashion Communication Coordinator, a
professional able to create and carry on a communication strategy for a
fashion brand. Since the visual communication of the brand has now
become essential, the course gives special emphasis to the study of
styling, elaborated by practical exercises, designed to represent the
market values and the aesthetics of the brand effectively.
Fashion communication is vast and
include large amount of subjects
studies at college level, but it is
also so simple that people of all
walks of life can turn to make it
their own third language, counting
native tongue is first, and body
language is second.
The fashion communication expert must have a good understanding of
the trends of a particular sector of the market, being able to develop new
techniques of dissemination of information and to manage communication
processes typical of the fashion world.
After an initial study of the fashion industry from an historical, cultural and
visual perspective, participants acquire knowledge about the
communication process of fashion: from the structure of a press office
with his organization and its activities, to the organization and
management of a fashion show as a moment of visibility and
strengthening of a brand identity up to the publishing world and events.
The teaching methodology examines the communication through different
media and forms of expression linked to them (publishing, styling, web,
new media, advertising, corporate events). Fashion Communication
Most Inspirational People in 2015
By Raconteur Published in The Times and The
Sunday Times “Mario Vargas Llosa”Top 100 list.
Jan+Feb/16
About Mario Vargas Llosa as a Nobel Prize Winner for writing great Novels and
Essays, and his advice to young writers in his famous book “letters to a Young
Novelist”. Challenging he is, one find it all over his smile, Llosa influence many
in his advices to writers. In many ways about reading and writing techniques,
but one of his best is to be able to change,”he said about humor was scary to
him in some ways it was to weaken his writing, but he change”. That was the
breaking point for selecting Llosa as The Most Inspirational Person in 2015
13

EXTRA!
Jan+Feb/16
Llosa also indicates in “Letters to a Young Novelist” that
writers should find their own style. He says the following:
■ “For practical advice, I’ll give you this: since you
want to be a novelist and you can’t be one without
coherent and essential style, set out to find a style
for yourself. Read constantly, because it is
impossible to acquire a rich, full sense of
language without reading plenty of good
literature, and try as hard as you can, not to
imitate the styles of the
■ novelists you most admire and who first taught
you to love literature
Mario Vargas Llosa with relatives after the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in Stockholm
Llosa has the following to say about using humor as a literary tool:: “I used to be ‘allergic’ to humor because I thought, very
naively, that serious literature never smiled; that humor could be very dangerous if I wanted to broach serious social, political,
or cultural problems in my novels. I thought it would make my stories seem superficial and give my reader the impression that
they were nothing more than light entertainment. That’s why I had renounced humor, probably under the influence of Sartre
who was always very hostile to humor, at least in his writing. But one day, I discovered that in order to effect a certain
experience of life in literature, humor could be a very precious tool. That happened with Pantaleon and the Special Service.
From then on, I was very conscious of humor as a great treasure, a basic element of life and therefore of literature.” (The Paris
Review) 14

Inspire, motivate, mobilize
Despite all research about the nature of leaders, practitioners and scholars still acknowl-
edge that many aspects of leadership remain a mystery.
Often, leaders are identified as possessing a remark-able quality that sets them apart from
others. It causes others to be attracted to them and enables them to achieve remarkable
outcomes. That quality has most frequently been labeled “charisma,” a term that comes
from the Greek word meaning “gift.” In ancient times people believed this quality was a
divine gift bestowed upon some and not others. There are many methods to enrich
leadership development and creation:
1.
2.
There are different approaches to inspiring leadership that go beyond having “charisma”
The ability to Inspire and Motivate Others is a behavioral skill that anyone can develop.
When you tell leaders to be more inspiring, my experience is that most of time
they are confused about what to do. Should they give more “high 5s”? Be
perkier around the office? Stand up and give motivational speeches?
Inspiration Quotes for teachers (Continue) Article base
Jan+Feb/16
As for the following inspirational teacher quote:
"He who dares to teach must never cease to learn." -- Richard Henry Dann
I'm sure this is true, too.
I'm sure my teachers learnt
about life, about themselves,
as they taught me and my fellow
pupils in junior school, high schoo
l and beyond.
For what is a child, but some reflection of
each of us that has the fortune
(or misfortune) to interact with that child.
And what is a true teacher, but someone who encourages the pupil to go beyond the confines of the
teacher's knowledge and understanding so that the pupil, eventually, has no need of them at all.
But why is it important to share these positive inspirational life quotes about teaching? Why thank them for
what they've done, and continue to do? Why not, instead, sneer at teachers as George Bernard Shaw so
famously did?
Well...
"Teaching is not a lost art, but the regard for it is a lost tradition." -- Jacques Barzun
And, after all, aren't we all teachers in this game of life we find ourselves engaged in today!
And the most important person we have to teach... ourselves!
What made Franklin D Roosevelt a
great leader?
Stanford University historian David Kennedy has identified a
number of characteristics that he feels made FDR a strong
president.
Curiosity
Kennedy claims that Roosevelt
had a curious mind and was always keen to learn more. The
president was an excellent communicator and learned much
through conversations and interactions with the outside world. This
thirst for knowledge and ability to absorb information made him a
quick study, which helped him become an authority on issues with
speed and confidence.
Great Leader Reflect n the people
If it is to feel better about role models and inspirational people that continue to
contribute our day to day life whilt they are living legends rather than those
who pass on but also considered of the same group of living legends, this is
can be related by also how much of gain if not all of the experience was driven
by what was already laid down by the great leaders of yesterday and in the
past influencing the present and to take on the future..
Today if i want to resemble someone of equal to FDR it will be difficult, but to
say the least it will not be President Richad Nixon, People use his place of rest
as a reminder to weak leadership and to make a connection between weak
leadership, lies, and cheating by a President of the USA, and us as people
and citizens of this country with irrelevant to your national origin, the color of
your skin, and your religion and culture. Great Leadership mean our country, it
send a picture perfect about everyone almost if you are looking in the mirror.
