Jared Muralt Amonst all the illustrators that I’ve looked at for referencing, Jared Muralt’s unique inking style stood out to me. He is a self taught artist who has worked in a number of firms in his home country, Switzerland. His style is quite an intriguing one and stands out from the others in a number of ways. He uses exaggerated, yet strong strokes and linings. Along with that, his characters possess exaggerated facial and body features showing off alternate futuristic realities in some illustrations. His graphic novels possess earthy, clean and beautiful colors. All of this serves is highly influential and has somehow found its way into my inking style and sketching. Such a style has proven to be highly inspiring in my project. It has helped and given me the confidence to keep a steady hand while drawing and designing with ink pens. 24
RESEARCH DOCUMENT Jared Muralt is a strong advocate of the process of comibining both traditional and digital techniques of design. His process involves traditionally drawing and illustrating his work and finishing it up with colors and other imagery for his projects.
