Ivy League opponents, but it wasn’t a walk in the park. • A Cornell forfeit at 133, a major decision win by Justin Staudenmayer of Brown at 157 and a tight 11-7 victory by Jon Viruet at 165 gave the Bears a 13-10 win after six matches. • Just like the previous night against Harvard, Cornell took control over the next three matches, all decided by bonue points, and earned a forfeit win at heavyweight for the final margin. • For the second straight day, junior Gabe Dean picked up six big team points with a pin, squaring Austin Pfarr’s shoulders to the mat 2:35 into the first period. • That came right after seventh-ranked Brian Realbuto fell just short of a tech fall win over Andrew LaBrie at 174 (19-5) and before Owen Scott put the match away with an 8-0 shutout of Augustus Marker to a Nahshon Garrett injury and a technical fall win at 184 after Cornell used John Jay Chavez, a 165-pounder, instead of undefeated Gabe Dean against No. 3 Nathaniel Brown. • Despite the loss, Cornell pulled a pair of upsets and lost another tossup match by a single point. • Junior Brian Realbuto, who has been ranked as high as No. 1 at 174 this season, earned a dominant major decision with a 23-15 triumph over Columbia at the Friedman Wrestling Center. •Cornell forfeited at 125 and used four backups in the lineup, but a late rally by Owen Scott at 197 sealed the win for the Big Red. • The teams traded forfeits, with Cornell surrendering six points at 125 and Columbia giving them back at 141, meaning the only match contestedi n the first three weights was top-ranked Nahshon Garrett’s 18-3 technical fall win over 2014 first-team All-Ivy selection Angelo Amenta at 133. • Cornell never trailed in the dual after Mark Grey had his hand raised at 141, as senior Logan David earned a win on Senior Weekend with a 4-3 triumph over Danny Reed at 149 to build the team lead to 14-6. • Duke Pickett and Brian Realbuto were dominant in decision wins at 165 and 174 over strong Oklahoma State’s strength was apparent in a 32-12 dual meet victory in front of 4,076 fans in Newman Arena. • Cornell surrendered six points off the bat after forfeiting at 125 and never got out of the hole, though senior Nahshon Garrett, wrestling his final match in front of the home fans, did his best to tie it up. • The senior took down 18th-ranked Gary Wayne Harding seconds into the match, tilted him three times for four points apiece and took a 14-1 lead into the second period and earned the 17-1 tech fall. • Besides Garrett, Dylan Palacio used an 8-4 upset over previously unbeaten Joe Match 10: #15 Cornell 21, Penn 9 Feb. 13, 2016 * The Palestra (Philadelphia, Pa.) • Freshman Joey Galasso picked up a signature win in front of his hometown fans and the Cornell wrestling team set up an Ivy title match with Princeton by running through Penn 21-9 at the Palestra. • All three of Penn’s nationally ranked wrestlers were defeated, with Galasso’s victory over No. 12 C.J.
