• Rob Koll, the David R. Dunlop ’59 Head Coach of<br />

Wrestling, is in his 23rd season as the mentor of the<br />

Cornell wrestling program.<br />

• Under Koll’s direction, the Big Red has captured 17 Ivy<br />

League titles, crowned 12 <strong>NCAA</strong> champions and achieved<br />

56 All-Americans and 55 individual EIWA champs.<br />

• He is the school’s career leader in wins, posting a<br />

267-87-5 (.751) career record.<br />

• Over the past 10 years, Cornell has shown without question that it is one of the nation’s<br />

elite squads with 45 All-Americans, 10 national champions, eight top five team finishes<br />

at the <strong>NCAA</strong>s and 10 straight EIWA titles.<br />

• In addition, the Big Red has won 14 consecutive Ivy crowns and 73 straight Ivy matches.<br />

ALL-IVY LEAGUE AWARDS:<br />

• Senior Nahshon Garrett earned his second Ivy League Wrestler of the Year award and freshman Joey<br />

Galasso became the third Cornellian in the last four years to capture Ivy League Rookie of the Year when<br />

the Ancient Eight announced its all-league teams.<br />

• In addition, Rob Koll captured Ivy League Coach of the Year honors for the second straight year, sharing<br />

the honor with Princeton’s Chris Ayres.<br />

• Garrett (133) and Galasso (149), both unanimous first-team picks, were joined on every ballot by firstteamers<br />

Gabe Dean (184), Brian Realbuto (174) and Dalton Macri (125).<br />

• Senior Duke Pickett (165) captured second-team accolades and sophomore Dylan Realbuto (141) and<br />

freshman Jeramy Sweany (285) took spots on the honorable mention squad.<br />

NOTES TO KNOW:<br />

• Senior Nahshon Garrett, a three-time All-American, sports a 33-match win streak and is unbeaten<br />

(32-0) this season.<br />

• Garrett ranks third all-time at Cornell with 144 wins and could move into second behind Mack Lewnes’<br />

record of 150 with a march through the <strong>NCAA</strong>s.<br />

• Garrett has 90 career bonus wins, good for third on the school’s all-time charts and needs one to match<br />

Mack Lewnes ‘12 for second.<br />

• Junior Gabe Dean became the 23rd Cornellian with 100 career wins and now ranks 17th (112).<br />

• Dean joined the school’s top 10 for career falls with his pin against Harvard and now has 29 in his first<br />

three seasons.<br />

• Dean also ranks third all-time at Cornell in individual winning percentage (112-6, .949), behind only<br />

Dave Auble (.981, 51-1) and Dake (.972, 137-4).<br />

• Both junior Brian Realbuto (92-14) and senior Duke Pickett (90-42) both reached 90 career wins at the<br />

EIWAs, becoming the 28th and 29th players in Cornell history to reach that mark.<br />

• Since the Friedman Wrestling Center opened in January of 2003, the Big Red is 66-13-1 (.831).<br />

• The Big Red finished the 2014-15 dual meet season with a 17-2 record, the third-highest total in school<br />

history. Cornell won a record 21 matches during the 1991-92 campaign.<br />

• Head coach Rob Koll became the ninth Big Red coach in any sport to reach 250 career victories with a<br />

sweep at the Grapple at the Garden last season. He now sports a 267-87-5 record in dual meets.<br />

• The Big Red has won 14 consecutive Ivy crowns and 73 straight Ivy matches.<br />
