The Academy celebrated
World Book Day with a variety
of activities including an old
favourite, Drop Everything
And Read; students in Years 7,
8 and 9 experienced a period of
sustained reading with a book
of their choice.
Staff and students also took part in
an Extreme Reading photographic
competition; the winning students
were Aiysha Sayer and Kelly Farrow
in Year 7, with Chloe Lee in Year 11
winning the Best Special Effects
category. Her photo shows her
balancing preciously on the top of
the Blackpool Tower! The winning
staff entry was for Miss Paterson
who managed to hang on to her
book after bouncing off a High
Altitude trampoline. Other staff
entries can be seen on display in
the library; pop in and take a look!

The most exciting event of the day
was the launch of the TEN Group
World Book Day Video parody of
Meghan Trainer’s ‘All About That
Bass’. Students from Attleborough
Academy, Fakenham Academy,
City Academy Norwich and Wayland
Academy Norfolk all contributed
together with staff from City College
Norwich. Huge thanks must go to
the college for undertaking such a
massive film editing job.
