The Tertiary Advisory Group (TAG)
represents a strategic collaboration
between Aktive, the Auckland
University of Technology (AUT), the
University of Auckland, Manukau
University of Technology (MIT),
Massey University and Unitec
(the five tertiary institutions of
Auckland), Sport NZ and Auckland
Tourism, Events & Economic
Development (ATEED), working
towards a shared vision of
developing sport in the region,
developing Auckland’s position as
the leading sporting city in NZ and
developing Aucklanders and their
communities through sport. Its
purpose is to:
• Create a regular, high-trust
platform for engaging with
five tertiary organisations in
Auckland
• Use the professional expertise
of tertiaries to help determine
strategic direction and
priorities
• Develop opportunities for
collaboration and alignment
between the tertiary
organisations themselves and
between tertiaries and the
wider Auckland sport
and recreation community
• Drive participation within
tertiary settings
provide their expertise across a
management and automated board
reporting. We use Xero based
an online, user friendly interface,
easy integration with excel and a
suite of add-on tools depending on
your organisation’s needs.
PROCUREMENT
Our team source the best deals
enabling you to access competitive
offers from trusted and credible
organisations. Our current offering
includes options for fleet with
MARKETING
Having invested into a website
template utilising an open source
platform (Dot Net Duke), we can
offer affiliate websites at affordable
prices through our website provider,
Sports Technology Group. These
are device responsive websites
(can be viewed on smartphones,
tablets, laptops and desktops) with
a simple do it your-self content
management system and full ability
to integrate social media platforms.
Why Consider
Our Services?
• To date, Aktive’s Shared
Services & Procurement has
negotiated realisable savings
of $700,000 towards our $1m
per annum target (net of
costs) by 2017, and is driving
an average of 40% savings -
money that can and has been
reinvested back into sport at the
grassroots.
• We’re currently assisting
10 regional and national
organisations including College
Sport Auckland, Triathlon NZ,
Hockey NZ, Bowls NZ and
several Regional Sport Trusts,
and are in discussions with a
number of organisations.
• This success has been achieved
through reduced duplication
of both people and financial
resources (by centralising back
office operations), improved
economies of scale and
increased buying power.
“People have been
talking about the
NZ sporting sector
sharing services for
30 years. Aktive
has actually done
it. They’ve not only
transformed College
Sport’s accounting,
but we’ll also
achieve cost savings
of more than $100k
a year in a range of
areas, which will help
us to reduce costs
and provide greater
services to schools.”
Dave Currie, CEO,
College Sport Auckland
