Mobile Case Study
The Institute of Golf is made up of highly qualified
professionals dedicated to improving the game of
their clients.
INSTITUTE OF GOLF
Craig Dixon,
CEO, Institute of Golf
“Working with
2degrees now
enables us to
perform our job at
the highest level.”
WHY ARE MOBILES IMPORTANT
TO THE INSTITUTE OF GOLF?
“Communication is key to our business.
We not only have to communicate to our
clients but communicate with each other
and share swing videos to ensure that
we’re all on the same page to improve
a player’s game. That’s what’s vital.
Obviously having 2degrees we’re enabled
to do that without worrying about going
over data or running out of minutes. It’s a
very powerful tool for us.”
HOW WAS IT BEFORE YOU
JOINED 2DEGREES?
“When you get a bill that far exceeds the
plans that you’re on, it sends warning
signals. As a business owner you’d
expect someone to say, “Hey, look, this is
maybe where we could potentially save
you some money.” That was not done
and that puts you in a situation where
you’re open to change.”
WHAT MADE
2DEGREES DIFFERENT?
“It was nice actually being able to talk
to someone that was interested in our
business. We needed someone to really
understand what we did and why we
did it. We wanted to save money but
not at the cost of prohibiting our players’
improvement. That was the thing. The
Business Manager from 2degrees was able
to come in and actually look at how we
could meet the needs of our clients within
terms of a budget.”
DID YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS
ABOUT JOINING 2DEGREES?
“It was a new company. There was a lot of
talk that they might not be able to deliver
upon their promise. But we’ve been very
happy in terms of them being able to
deliver on everything they’ve promised and
more. We’re completely satisfied with what
we’re getting from 2degrees.”
AND WERE YOU NERVOUS ABOUT
THE SWITCH-OVER?
“Whenever you’re shifting a service provider
there are always potential issues that could
arise. For us it was seamless. We actually
didn’t even notice. The communication that
we had was fantastic. They were telling us
when it was going to happen and for how
long and they kept that promise.”
HOW’S THE COVERAGE?
“We find the coverage is sensational.
Sending large files, being able to
communicate whether on the road or
in the middle of a golf course in the
middle of nowhere, that’s essential. With
2degrees we’ve found the reliability of
their network outstanding.”
DO YOU GET YOUR HANDSETS
THROUGH 2DEGREES?
“Yes and the gear we’re able to get is
fantastic. For the coaches, for example,
we’ve got the iPhone 6 Plus. The screens are
huge which enables us to film our clients,
show them what’s happening on the course
and then email the files at ease.”
AND HOW MUCH ARE
YOU SAVING?
“The savings that we get are about $700
a month minimum. We’re now able to
invest that into other areas of the business.
But in all honesty, it’s not necessarily just
the money saved which is important to
us. What’s important is that we’re able
to deliver a better service to our clients
and we’re all about results. Working with
2degrees is enabling us to get that.”
