Design and Development: Sound Analysis & Synthesis Team<br />
TS is a standalone software application for sound<br />
transformation and time stretching that uses SuperVP and<br />
elements of the AudioSculpt 3 interface.<br />
The Snail-Absolute Tuning is a sound frequency analyzer that<br />
uses an inventive representation with chromatic alignment.<br />
Compared to standard analyzers, this representation makes<br />
it possible to easily visualize active zones with light (like on<br />
a spectrogram) and to organize frequencies by note on a<br />
tempered scale, in tune with a diapason.<br />
Applications<br />
Composition, sound design, post-production, teaching<br />
Main Features<br />
• Visualization – display of the sonogram, waveform, and<br />
spectrum. Interactive zoom from the temporal signal to<br />
sample, linear and logarithmic sonogram. FFT, LPC, and<br />
True Envelope analysis<br />
• Compression/Expansion – modification of the length of a<br />
sound without changing its pitch or timbre and preserving<br />
the quality of the attacks and transitions. Presets for<br />
different transposition modes with the possibility of<br />
adjusting the max FO and spectral envelope<br />
• Remix – remix the transient, sinus, or noise components<br />
of the sound signal<br />
• Control – audio playback with standard controls. Results<br />
can be recorded in real-time or offline by modifying the<br />
parameters. Possibility of piloting and automation via a<br />
MIDI controller<br />
Platform<br />
Macintosh on MacOSX (10.5 or higher). Compatible with<br />
AIFF/AIFC, WAV, and other formats via the libsndfile library<br />

Musical visualization of a sound signal, education, tuning<br />

• Visualization – display of The Snail-Absolute Tuning’s<br />
chromatic abacus simplified for a musical image of sound<br />
• Interface – configurable analysis engine. Settings for<br />
different modes of visualization: phase, spectrum, or snail<br />
(tuner). Settings for the frequency region visible in MIDI<br />
notes. Diapason tuning<br />
Platform<br />
Macintosh on MacOSX (10.6 or higher), iOS (iPad).<br />
Compatible with all audio files (all formats supported by the<br />
native MacOSX library) or signal input via the audio input of<br />
the equipment used<br />
