For underwater applications only, if
urgent repairs are required, use
SUBCOAT S. Clean the area with a
wire brush or scraper, removing all
loose paint and rust. SUBCOAT S
is a two-pack systems.
Mix the base and hardener thoroughly
with hands kept wet continuously
in a container or directly in
the seawater. Even if the product is
not harmful, always wear rubber
gloves for the application. When
mixing, knead first a small quantity
of hardener (white paste), add the
same quantity of base (blue paste),
then mix with wet hands until
the colour of the mixture is a homogeneous
light blue and the consistency
uniform. This procedure
may be carried out in immersion of
seawater without affecting the result.
SUBCOAT S ha a limited pot-life,
which diminishes at temperatures
above 25°C. Do not apply if the
temperature of the surface is below
10°C. Apply an average thickness
of 4 mm.
SUBCOAT S
Two-pack epoxy filler
for underwater applications
CHARACTERISTICS
A pure epoxy compound,
100% solids by volume, which
removes water from the
surface to be treated, providing
excellent adhesion
even to wet surfaces.
Particularly useful for temporary
repairs of leaks and
cracks on a boat when in
the water or moving.
Subcoat S adheres easily to
GRP, gel coats, aged
epoxies, coal tar epoxies as
well as to steel and concrete.
Suitable for temporary
repairs on sea-chests, boottoppings
and and submerged
parts of concrete
quays. Resistant to temperatures
up to 100°C.

CONVENTIONAL FILLERS
STUCCO VELOX is suitable for conventional
one-pack painting systems
on wooden boats. Can be
used for low thickness levelling up
to 1mm, but only above the waterline
(topside). Apply the product on
top of undercoats or enamels previously
sanded with 80 - 120 grade
paper.
When repainting aged coatings first
of all degrease and sand the surface
before applying the filler with
a flexible spatula and without adding
thinner. Apply an uniform layer
with a maximum thickness of 1
mm. Let dry for at least 24 hours
before sanding with 120 - 180 grade
paper.
STUCCO VELOX
Conventional one-pack
knifing filler
CHARACTERISTICS
Stucco Velox is generally
used for final profiling as
part of one-pack painting systems
on topsides and
deckhouses with a maximum
thickness per coat of
1 mm. Not suitable for underwater
areas or areas
with intermittent immersion.
Applications of more than 1
mm per layer may result in
cracking. Stucco Velox can
be over-coated with alkyd resin
undercoats and finishes
such as Eurogel, Unigloss
and Europa.

Always remembrer
• Sand the surface before and
after filling. Fillers from
Veneziani do not contain solvents
(with the exception of
STUCCO VELOX) and therefore
should be applied always on
sanded surfaces.
• A filler is porous and therefore
absorbs a lot of paint. The overcoat
will develop cloudy patches
unless you impregnate the filled
area with an additional coat of
paint before overcoating.
