Motus Day of Service IMPACT REPORT VOLUNTEER PROJECT Working together with Davis Leadership Academy 7th and 8th grade students on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (1/18/16), Motus volunteers and students made 56 no-sew fleece blankets that will be delivered to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Boston Medical Center in the next few weeks. Motus volunteers and the students discussed school, career aspirations, and their personal interests as they worked together to make 56 fleece blankets! Following lunch of pizza, Davis Leadership Academy Executive Director, Dr. Karmala Sherwood, led the Motus volunteers on a tour of the building. The students and faculty of Davis Leadership Academy are eager to continue to develop a long-lasting partnership with Motus after a fantastic, meaningful MLK Jr. Day of Service! 2 Volunteer Impact Report
Motus Day of Service IMPACT REPORT About Davis Leadership Academy The Helen Y. Davis Leadership Academy requires all students to each perform 30 hours of community service. The goal of the service-learning program is to connect students to the Academy’s Core Values. Students do at least three service learning projects as a class, rather than individually; however, many students exceed the required service-learning hours through after-school programs and special events such as days of service with volunteers from companies like Motus.
