S P E C I A L E N F O R C E M E N T T E A M S.E.T. The Special Enforcement Team, or S.E.T., is a tw o officer team w hose primary goal is the monitoring of the parole and probation population in Woodland. They w ork closely w ith Parole and Probation officers to ensure the safety and effectiveness of these community supervision programs. By having strong w orking relationships w ith Parole and Probation w e are able to support each other in completing our unique missions. Probation is tasked w ith many restorative programs, but the SET officers are focused on accountability and addressing those individuals that choose not to participate in the restorative programs and instead commit new crimes. SET officers w ork closely w ith the Woodland PD Crime Analysis Unit (CAU). CAU maintains the statistical information for the SET officers and reports this information internally and externally to Probation. CAU also provides monthly updates to Patrol on new AB109 members and any trends associated w ith the population. 14 2015 Woodland PD Annual Report
SWAT SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS The Woodland Police Department Tactical Operations consists of tw o teams: the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) and the Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT). The teams are managed by a Lieutenant w ho is assigned as the Tactical Commander. The SWAT Team consists of ten officers and there are seven in CNT. The officers for each team are subject to a rigorous selection process to become a member and, once selected, they go through a considerable amount of ongoing training. SWAT w orks in conjunction w ith the Yolo County Sheriff?s Department SWAT Team. The SWAT and CNT Teams are trained for numerous incidents that include: barricaded suspects, hostage rescue, high risk w arrant service, dignitary protection, civil disturbances, or any significant event w hich w arrants such a response. The members of the SWAT and CNT Teams are equipped w ith the state of the art equipment and w eapons, to include less-lethal w eaponry necessary for a variety of tactical missions.
