If there’s one makeup product that I know, it’s liquid eyeliner. Rare is the day that I go anywhere without a healthy line of black ink on my upper eyelid. I’ve used the same liquid eyeliner (L’Oreal Telescopic Liquid Liner) for the past few years. However, I was recently inspired to get out of my makeup comfort zone and try out some new liquid liners to see if any of them could top my old standby. And, because I’m a college student, I wanted the eyeliners to be as cost effective as possible. So naturally, I turned to drugstore makeup brands to see what I could dig up.
Maybelline’s Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner Pros: Easy to hold, tapered tip allowed for precise application. Cons: Not very pigmented, smudged easily. Would not recommend to a friend. X NYX Matte Liquid Liner Pros: Highly pigmented, easy to use, long lasting. Cons: Small amount of product. Would recommend to a friend. L’Oreal Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Liner Pros: Extremely pigmented. Cons: Thick tip that made precise application difficult, flaked off as soon as it was dry, stung the corners of my eyes in the first few minutes of application. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. X NYC Liquid Eyeliner Pros: Extremely pigmented, long lasting, easy to use, by far the cheapest option. Cons: None. Would recommend to literally everyone.
