Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - I am currently an aspiring model, looking to break through. I have always had an interest in this
career path but never been brave enough to pursue it. However, it has been fun attempting to get
the ball rolling.
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - During the shoot, I realized how subtle changes during a pose can make a huge difference to the shot
that has been taken. Also, adjustment to lighting and backgrounds can alter and influence an image
massively, which comes down to the skill of the photographer.
Q – In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve produced?
(i)
A - These are 3 of my favourite as they capture a variety of clothing styles and also several
different looks of mine.
01 02
Q – As an artist do you speak about older generations for inspiration? If so who gives you inspiration for
your work?
A - I feel that older generations will always be important as its plain to see that old fashions and trends
come back exactly as they were or sometimes with slight alterations. This makes it key to pay attention
to older generations’ styles as they can quite easily make a return.
Q - What’s the last great film / article you’ve seen or read?
A - There have been 2 great films recently and these are Jungle Book and Captain America Civil War.
The Cap America one was great because I am a huge fan of the whole Marvel franchise and have
been since I was younger. Whereas, Jungle Book was particularly impressive because of the
technical work that took place behind the scene. As they shot a vast majority of the film within one
room and one young actor. Not only this but the graphics throughout the film are impeccable, capturing
a real essence of how these animals behave with their own mannerisms.

Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - Hi, my name is Ben and I’m currently studying Graphic Design at the University of the Arts
London. I like to make illustrations on the side, as it’s always been a big passion to me. I’m currently
working on a new series of portraiture artworks called the ‘Fragment’.
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - Probably how I begin to let the medium take part of the design. In my old works every
area is precise and measured to how I want it to be. Now, you can see more paint dripping
and free hand drawings, maybe it’s the confidence I have built up from practice but this
shifts the process to another route and most times lead to a more interesting outcome.
Q – In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve produced?
Q –In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve purchased
which was produced by someone else? (ii)
A - ‘Spring Has Come’ print by Carne Griffiths and two books written by Kenya Hara
Q – What’s one art/trend you applaud and why? (i)
A - I’ve always been a fan of the traditional Asian ink wash paintings. How using basic and
minimal medium to create such gentle yet bold artworks,
something I am trying to implement into my work.
Q What’s one art/trend you don’t applaud and why? (ii)
05 06
A - I don’t particular have one as I believe they all have their area of expression or purpose
and is what makes movement and art so interesting.
Q – As an artist do you speak about older generations for inspiration? If so who gives you
inspiration for your work?
A -Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Piccaso and Andy Warhol.
Felis Leo - Clothing
(Where audience can contact you via email, social network)
interests - Fashion, Photography, videography, music and football
Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - Felis Leo consists of five members, Tobee, Raof, David, Adrian and Jamaul. We are all Childhood
friends that have the same sort of fashion sense and feel that we can make an impact releasing
our own line of clothing. The fact that we all have the same mindset and chemistry give us an advantage
for fast progression and innovative ideas.
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - We went to Camden London to see Tory Lanez perform live at Koko. We started taking
some natural shots of the team and others. Once we edited these pictures and made
some modifications to the clothing we posted them on social media and received a lot of
great feedback.
11 12
Q – In your collection, what are your main pieces of work/art that you’ve produced? (i)
A - Concepts such as caps t-shirts and jackets, are made and are waiting to be released at the right time.
To be announced but before.this is done we have to promote them by wearing them ourselves, giving
some away for others to promote and posting them on social media.
Our first release will be distressed caps with our main brand logo which we have designed. The caps that
we have purchased are from a distributor that produce good quality products from UK and overseas.
Q – What’s one art/trend you applaud and why? (i)
A - What we have noticed to be on trends season is the change in colour schemes. Everybody is loving
the beige, powder pink, khaki and brown. A lot of stylists have had a heavy influence on these colour
schemes as they work well with a combination of outfits and skin complexions.
“you look for inspiration
Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - I am currently in my first year of university studying computer science, and on the
side with a couple of friends starting a small clothing brand. This is something I’ve always
wanted to do and now the idea is becoming a reality.
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - Time. This is a key detail that you don’t really think about until everything is underway.
Designing can take a lot of time to create the many ideas that you have stored in your
mind and then you have to choose only a few.
Q – In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve produced? (i)
A - Me and my team have created more than 20 designs total, one I created just in one of
my creative moments and when I showed it to the others it turns out that that’s one of the
main designs that is going to be produced. The other one is the creation of the logo. And
lastly, I created a logotype of art for my friend’s sisters wedding which was then used on all
their invitations cards and centerpieces at the wedding.
anywhere and everywhere.”
Q – As an artist do you speak about older generations for inspiration? If so who gives you
inspiration for your work?
15 16
A - You look for inspiration anywhere and everywhere, sometimes you struggle to find it so
you look for inspiration where someone has already found it hoping to get your own take
on it. I don’t talk about anyone enough to specify but yes I have talked about older generations
to find some inspiration.
Q – What’s one art/trend you applaud and why? (i)
A - One trend or somewhat of a trend is the new tones that have been brought into today’s
fashion, I applaud this because it brings about a whole different dimension to an outfit
with such simple colours.
Q –in your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve purchased
which was produced by someone else? (ii)
A - One piece of art that I have purchased was on one of my trips to Kenya where I got my
families names hand carved into wood surrounded by the animals known as the famous
5. The second piece is a poster that was only mad in a limited quantity that has the word
‘LOVE’ but instead of letters Guns are laid out to make the word, this poster has a deeper
meaning of love instead of war. And lastly, a piece of art that I am waiting to purchase from
an artist ‘FunnyTummyArt’.
Photographs by raof kadir
Photographs by raof kadir
Q – What’s one art/trend you don’t applaud and why? (ii)
A - Some brands are trying too bring back a very old style to mix with modern fashion,
which is all well and good but I feel like they are over doing it or mixing it too much and the
styles that are being produced aren’t really what you’d expect from brands.
Q – What’s the last great film / article you’ve seen or read?
A - The last great movie I watched that springs to mind is ‘The Last King Of Scotland’
which is briefly about the reign of Idi Amin in Uganda, which is wearing my father is from
and shows the hardships that people went through and then being kicked out of a country.
And it reminds me that bad things happen but you have to work hard and come out
stronger.

Isaac wilkinson
Location – Manchester
Type of artist – film maker
website - blogsandbiscuits.blogspot.co.uk
contact info - isaacwilkinson@outlook.com, ig @isaacdw42
(where audience can contact you via email, social network)
Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - My name is Isaac Wilkinson, I am currently a film student at Manchester
Metropolitan University. I film professional skateboarders, I’ve travelled all around
the world doing so, most recently was to Barcelona, the skate Mecca. I have
worked with a lot of skate companies to produce videos for them. However, I work
mainly for Black Sheep Store in Manchester. I am working on a full-length skate
video at the moment. As a skate filmer, it means a lot to myself to be working on
a full length. It’s more of a rite of passage, every filmer in the industry has done
one so working on my own at the moment means a lot to me.
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - Well I am still working on it, and it’s a lot of hard work,
I’ve chosen 8 people to have full sections in the video, each section will be
between 3-5 minutes long and collecting footage takes a long time.
You need a lot of patience when it comes to filming skateboarders
as it takes a while to get tricks. Some skaters get the tricks done quite quickly,
however sometimes it takes hours to get a trick and that’s where you need the
patience. When the skater is throwing their board around and shouting at a
ledge or handrail you really need to give them the encouragement otherwise
they won’t do it.
17 18
Photographs by isaac wilkinson
Q – What’s one art/trend you applaud and why? (i)
A - I’m very into constructivism recently as it’s based on observation and scientific study.
I like science however I was never very good at it during high school.
Space and anything to do with planets and the universe is super cool.
Q – What’s one art/trend you don’t applaud and why? (ii)
A - Music videos it’s not so much an art trend however I’m not a big fan of music video,
I feel like they’re are too basic and easy to make, and when it comes to a making a film
you really need to think about what you’re shooting. When it comes to a music video,
if you’ve got the money you can literally do anything.
Photographs by jack dolbeki
“When it comes to making these videos it takes a lot of time and patience to
film, a lot of the time is spent saying to the skater ‘come on, you’ve got it
next go’, and a lot of the time their reply is just ‘one more go, I’ve got it’.”

Q – As an artist do you speak about older generations for inspiration? If so who gives you inspiration for your
work?
A - look at a lot of film directors and one who really inspires me is Spike Jonz. One of his most recent films ‘Her’
won an Oscar. Spike is a skateboard filmer like myself and he is a massive inspiration to my work.
Q – What’s the last great film / article you’ve seen or read?
A - tricky one this as there’s so much to choose from, however the last greatest
film I saw was ‘Captain America Civil War.’ It many not be an art film but I love
super hero movies and this really lived up to my expectations.
Photographs by isaac wilkinson
Q - In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve produced? (i)
A - In no particular order: Curbs and Rainy days, this video I shot over 3 months in a car park in Stockport
with my best friend Jiri Bulin. We really wanted to push this project and make it work and it’s one
of my earliest pieces of work in which I have done with I thought is one of my best.
Another project I’ve worked on is called Chicken Man.
This is a university project which I worked on. I worked as the roles of cinematographer and editor.
Working on this was a heavy task, it took us a while to plan the film and get it right but it turned out
really well, although the sound side of the film is a let down. Our sound designer was lazy and sloppy
when it came to the final version. Overall Chicken Man was a success.
19 20
Finally most recently was a promotional video for Volcom’s spring collection in collaboration with
Black Sheep store. The skater in the film is called Nick Stansfield and I’ve filmed with him before,
however we had a two-day deadline on this film so we had to shoot it in a day, but this worked out as a
great piece.
Q – In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve purchased which was
produced by someone else? (ii)
A - One piece of work I’ve purchased is a skate video called SHADS.
It was created by Mark Kendrick one of the skateboarders from Manchester.
This video really stood out for me as it was so different and the cinematography is incredible.

Q – Can you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are currently working on?
A - I’m currently a professional basketball player, playing in the Spanish first division (ACB - second
best league in the world). My two main things right now are photography and design. I’m currently in
the process of designing a luxury beachwear line and also doing photography whenever and
wherever I get the opportunity.
Interests - Art, Architecture, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Skate, Surf, Photography, Tropics
Q – What were some of the details that stood out during the process?
A - For the the main things that stand out are the smallest things. For example, in the current
process of designing my beachwear line, making sure that EVERYONE I work with has the
same vision I have, from the manufacturer, my lawyer and everyone else in between.
In photography, kind of the same. Making sure that the assistants, the models, and anyone
else on set know what your end goal is.
Q – In your collection, what are 3 of your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve produced? (i)
A - I personally don’t have any “favourite” pieces/works. Everything I create I’m equally proud of.
21 22
Q –In your collection, what are your favourite pieces of work/art that you’ve purchased
which was produced by someone else? (ii)
A - One thing I consider my favourite was actually a gift to me from a teammate. My 85’ DS
Bred 1s.
Q – What’s one art/trend you applaud and why? (i)
A - I don’t follow trends when it comes to art. Art should be about your personal taste not
about what everyone else likes.
Q – As an artist do you speak about older generations for inspiration? If so who gives you
inspiration for your work?
A - I don’t look to the past for inspiration I get my inspiration from exploring. wherever it may
be from tumblr, taking a walk on the beach or listening to music.
Q – What’s the last great film / article you’ve seen or read?
A - No idea to be honest, haha. Great to one person could be sh*t to another.
