CNB SPECIAL
Drug-Free and Proud
Three ways to take a firm stand against drug abuse this World Drug Day.
Here’s a shocking statistic: A total of 3,338 drug
abusers were arrested by The Central Narcotics
Bureau (CNB) in 2015 – a six per cent increase from
2014. It’s a problem that not only affects the abusers'
lives and their families, but also the society at large.
This month, take a firm stand against drug abuse
as World Drug Day falls on June 26. CNB and the
National Council Against Drug Abuse are jointly
organising an array of exciting events, collectively
known as the Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign. Here are
three exciting ways you and your family can get
involved in.
DanceWorks!
1. SUPPORT DANCEWORKS!2016
The wildly successful DanceWorks! is back for the
18th year running. Taking on the theme "Dance for
Freedom", the dance competition encourages the
development of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among
youths. Catch our youths in action as they battle it
out at Suntec Singapore Hall 405/406 for the finals
on 25th June.
2. TAKE PART IN THE ANTI-DRUG ESCAPE GAME
Get your heart racing during this anti-drug escape
game! Expect mind-blogging puzzles and obstacles
guaranteed to challenge your wits. Check it out on
25th and 26 June at Suntec Singapore Hall 405/406.
3. VISIT THE REVAMPED ADDICTION ALLEY
A small trip to Health Promotion Board’s Health Zone
might just reap big rewards as the Addiction Alley
is newly revamped this year. Look out for interactive
exhibitions like a shooting game which lets visitors
shoot falling drugs before it lands on a human body
as well as spinning cubes which display drug names
along with its effects and penalties.
