Load on Blocks<br />

WARNING<br />

• The Working Load Limit (WLL) is the maximum resultant load which should<br />

ever be applied to a block and its fittings. Blocks used to fairlead (single<br />

sheave and snatch blocks) can be subjected to a load greater than the<br />

weight being lifted or pulled.<br />

• The total weight (load) on a single sheave block or snatch block varies with<br />

the bight angle between the incoming and outgoing line to the block (see<br />

Figure 2).<br />
