papers for SSLC and II
PU examinations will be
printed in the examination
hall itself from this
academic year.
Jayachandra was
speaking to reporters in
Tumakuru on Monday,
June 6.
The question papers
will be mailed simultaneously
to all the examination
centres from
the central control room
of the department. And
then the question papers
will be printed just 10
minutes before the commencement
of the exams.
Proper and necessary
arrangements will be
made at the examination
centres to take print out
of the question papers,
Jayachandra explained.
The state government
had to conduct re-examination
for the second
PU chemistry paper
twice in the last academic
year following leak of
question papers.
Jayachandra also revealed
that the government
will not grant permission
for starting new
colleges this year and
urged the existing
colleges to improve
their condition
with more
facilities.

rising number of fire accidents
in the city, the State
Government has framed
strict rules for owners and
developers of high rise
buildings to comply with
fire safety rules.
If the buildings do not
comply with the rules
framed by the government,
electricity supply companies
like BESCOM, GESCOM,
HESCOM, CHESCOM will
disconnect electricity connection
and also seal the
building.
If the building owners
fail to rectify the lapses
even after being warned,
BBMP and other Municipal
authorities shall suspend
the occupancy certificate
for the High rise buildings.
Acting on a notification
issued by Government of
Karnataka in July 2011, a
joint inspection drive was
carried out by the Fire
and Emergency Services
Department and BBMP in
Bengaluru, Mangaluru and
Hubblli.
A total of 15, 045 high
rise building in Bengaluru
were identified by Karnataka
Fire and Emergency
Services Department that
do not have No Objection
Certificates or Clearance
Certificates and 3397
buildings in Mangaluru and
Hubballi.
In the recent inspections
carried out by Fire and
Emergency Services Department,
a total of 2212
buildings were re-inspected.
Out of which 1202 were
found to be complying with
fire safety measures. But
146 buildings were identified
and recommended
to BBMP and BESCOM for
power disconnection and
withdrawal of occupancy
certificate.
The Fire department
carried out inspections at
32 Star hotels, 27 Malls and
Multiplexes, 21 Museum
and Art Galleries, 30 high
Assembly buildings and 15
Palace Grounds Convention
Centres in Bengaluru.
Government of Karnataka
has framed measures for
buildings of 15 mtrs and
above in height to comply
with fire safety measures.
Obtaining NOC from Fire
and Emergency Services is
one of the most important
rules by the state.
BBMP or local municipal
authority were strictly directed
not to grant building
plans/ licenses without obtaining
NOC from Fire and
Emergency Services.
If the building is already
existing but occupied or
under construction, the
BBMP or Local Municipal
Authority will not grant oc-
