DESCRIPTION
Shrubby bamboo; branches tufted. Culm-sheaths triangular, deciduous, fragile; blade inflated at the base.
DISTRIBUTION
This species is found distributed in the North-Eastern India.

DESCRIPTION
A shrubby or small arborescent bamboo. Culms
not more than 2 m tall. Culm-sheaths not known.
Leaves pale green 2.5-12.5 cm long and 1.25-
2.5 cm broad, ovate- lanceolate, unequally
rounded at the base into a 5 mm long petiole, often
wrinkled, suddenly narrowed above into scabrous,
subulate point ending in long hair like tip, glabrous
on both surfaces, minutely pubescent below,
margins rough and somewhat cartilaginous; mid
vein pale, secondary veins 4-6 pairs, intermediate
7, without transverse veinlets. Sheaths striate,
ciliate on the margins, ending in a short rounded
auricle furnished with a few, very early deciduous
cilia; ligule long, sometimes ciliate. Inflorescence
a pale terminal head about 2.5 cm diameter,
supported by a leafy and broad, rounded, glabrous
sheath like bracts and consisting of many, long,
aristate, empty glumes or sterile spikelets, with a
