Refunds (continued)<br />

This results in a financial obligation to<br />

the <strong>University</strong> for the course fee, plus an<br />

additional $25 charge, plus a $25 late fee.<br />

If the <strong>University</strong> cancels a class, the student<br />

will receive a full refund of applicable fees<br />

or will be allowed to register in another<br />

class without payment of a late fee.<br />

Dishonored Check Policy<br />

Once a check has been dishonored, no<br />

personal checks will be accepted from that<br />

person for a period of at least two academic<br />

terms. This rule applies to any check<br />

returned from any financial institution for<br />

any reason.<br />

The person will be required to pay all<br />

university-related debts with a certified<br />

check, money order or traveler’s check(s)<br />

including the $25.00 returned check fee.<br />

Discrepancies not resolved before final<br />

exams may result in loss of credit for the<br />

class.<br />

Verification of Enrollment<br />

To verify that you have been officially<br />

enrolled in your classes, check the<br />

instructor’s printed class roster which is<br />

published the fourth week of the term.<br />

<strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong> students will appear on the<br />

same roster as students enrolled in degree<br />

programs. If your name is not on the roster,<br />

call the College of Extended & International<br />

Education Office immediately. It is the<br />

student’s responsibility to initiate inquiries<br />

regarding his/her registration in a course.<br />

Discrepancies not resolved before final<br />

exams may result in loss of credit for the<br />

class.<br />

Academic Eligibility and<br />

Credit Information<br />

Matriculated Students<br />

You may not enroll in the <strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

program if you have been admitted to any<br />

California State <strong>University</strong> campus as a regular<br />

student for this semester, or if you are a<br />

continuing regular student for this semester,<br />

or if you are a continuing regular student who<br />

has registered in the previous term at any<br />

CSU. This does not apply to academically disqualified<br />

students.<br />

Undergraduate Credit<br />

A maximum of 24 semester units of <strong>Open</strong><br />

<strong>University</strong> or extension baccalaureate-level<br />

credit may be applied toward bachelor’s degree<br />

requirements at California State <strong>University</strong>,<br />

Dominguez Hills. Each department, however,<br />

decides whether a particular course can be<br />

accepted towards a major or minor.<br />

Graduate Credit<br />

For a 30 semester unit master’s degree at<br />

California State <strong>University</strong>, Dominguez Hills,<br />

students may not apply more than 6 units of<br />

<strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong> credit and/or credit transferred<br />

from other accredited institutions.<br />

All students taking 500 level courses<br />

must obtain the appropriate college<br />

dean's signature before submitting their<br />

registration forms to the College of Extended<br />

& International Education. <strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

students may take 500 level courses within the<br />

College of Business and Public Administration<br />

only with a stamp issued from the department.<br />

Mathematics Classes<br />

Students wishing to enroll in several<br />

mathematics classes will have to provide<br />

evidence of having satisfied the ELM<br />

requirements. This requirement can be<br />

satisfied by either of the following methods.<br />

1. Passing the ELM examination administered<br />

by the <strong>University</strong> Testing Office (call 243-3909<br />

for information).<br />

2. Transcripts showing passing grades on<br />

college level mathematics courses. California<br />

State <strong>University</strong>, Dominguez Hills graduates<br />

can have their records verified by the Office<br />

of Admissions and Records.<br />

Official verification must be received<br />

by the Extended Education Registration<br />

office before the student can enroll in<br />

mathematics classes. Verification may<br />

be obtained at the <strong>University</strong> Advisement<br />

Center (located in Welch Hall), or the<br />

Math Department (Natural Sciences &<br />

Mathematics Building), room A-132.<br />

College of Business Administration and<br />

Public Policy<br />

All <strong>Open</strong> <strong>University</strong> students who wish to register<br />

for 300-or 400-level business courses<br />

or Accounting 231 are required to obtain<br />

approval from the Business Advisement<br />

Center located in the Social and Behavioral<br />

Sciences Building (SBS), room E-306. The telephone<br />

number is (310) 243-3561.<br />

For information concerning approval of graduate<br />

business courses, call (310) 243-3465. Students<br />

must bring a copy of their transcripts, grade<br />

reports, and/or college records, including<br />

all lower division business courses to the<br />

Center when seeking advisement. Contact<br />

the Business Advisement Center for hours of<br />

operation.<br />

Transcripts<br />

Transcripts may be ordered online, by phone,<br />

or by mail. Expedited requests may also be<br />

made in person. Details are available at<br />

http://www4csudh.edu/admissions-records/<br />

records/request-transcript. The fee for<br />

transcripts is $4, payable at the Cashier’s<br />

Office. <strong>CSUDH</strong> Records & Registration keeps<br />

track of your degree applicable credits and<br />

records them in your student file.<br />

Grade Reports<br />

Official transcripts with current grades will<br />

be available approximately five weeks after<br />

the end of the course. To learn your grade<br />

for any graded class, including Extension,<br />

Special Sessions, Summer Sessions and Winter<br />

Session, please access My<strong>CSUDH</strong>: http://<br />

my.csudh.edu, or go to http://www.csudh.edu<br />
