Regional distribution<br />

Place names <strong>and</strong> general regions of Mongolia are included, accompanied by a distribution<br />

map <strong>for</strong> Mongolia. These maps were updated during the Second International <strong>Mongolian</strong><br />

Biodiversity Databank Workshop, based on Terbish et al. (2006a) <strong>and</strong> Borkin et al.<br />

(1990), <strong>and</strong> were enriched with new in<strong>for</strong>mation from the scientifi c literature, museum<br />

records, government <strong>and</strong> conservation organisation documents, <strong>and</strong> expert observations<br />

(see Terbish et al. (2006b) <strong>for</strong> further details on the production of maps). Although these<br />

are as accurate <strong>and</strong> up to date as possible, it should be noted that many species are lacking<br />

in distribution data. As further research is conducted, changes to these maps are likely to<br />

occur. Distributions outside Mongolia were not updated.<br />

Dominant threats<br />

primary concern by participants during the Second International <strong>Mongolian</strong> Biodiversity<br />

Databank Workshop. Threat processes can be complex <strong>and</strong> refl ect multiple factors; <strong>for</strong><br />

more detailed in<strong>for</strong>mation please refer to the <strong>Mongolian</strong> Biodiversity Databank.<br />

<strong>Conservation</strong> measures in place<br />

Specifi c conservation actions currently established.<br />

<strong>Conservation</strong> measures required<br />

<strong>Action</strong>s suggested by experts at the Second International <strong>Mongolian</strong> Biodiversity<br />

Databank Workshop, <strong>and</strong> specialists in subsequent reviews, which are expected to reduce<br />

the negative impact of threats <strong>and</strong> ensure the future persistence of the species.<br />

All summary conservation action plans have been compiled <strong>and</strong> reviewed by participants of<br />

the workshop <strong>and</strong> other specialists.<br />
