is going on with you, it has to
stop. This internship is what most
film students dream of and you’re
wasting it away with your shear
disregard for time management.
Now let’s put this behind us and
start this day fresh.”
Avery was still so embarrassed, but
at least Mark had enough faith in
her to give her a chance to redeem
herself. If she wouldn’t have let
her emotions get in the way of her
dream job, she wouldn’t be in the
situation she’s in now. She decided
that she was going to turn herself
around, and show Mark how good
she actually was at her job.
Avery rushed over to the group
of interns where she was greeted
with a smile by Jackson. At least
she had one person who she didn’t
disappoint yet. Viola discussed with
the group that the interns would be
shadowing their mentors for the
entire day. Avery should have been
thrilled with the idea of getting to
shadow Mark all day, but after the
morning she was having she was
hoping to be able to avoid him for
a bit longer.
“I was hoping we would get to
tour more areas of the studio
today. I already am in hot
water with my manager,” Avery
whispered to Jackson.
“Why are you in hot water with
him?” Jackson asked.
Avery didn’t want to get into the
whole story with Jackson, so she
just told him how she ruined his
shot the day before, and caused him
to be late this morning.
“Luckily it’s only day two. You have
so much time to win him over. I have
faith in you Avery,” Jackson said as
he gave her a reassuring smile.
Avery was definitely glad that she
made friends with Jackson early
on. It was nice having a friend and
support during a new transition in
her life. As for the other interns,
they had already grouped up
together. They all seemed very
confident with not only their work,
but themselves. Avery could sense
Karma judging her from a mile
away. That’s why Jackson and Avery
kept to themselves.
After their meeting the interns
grouped up with their managers.
Mark had been preparing for the
next couple scenes in his movie,
when Avery approached him.
“I’m all yours. Let me know what
you need and when you need it,”
Avery said enthusiastically to Mark.
“Just stay behind the camera men
and try not to get in anyone’s way.
I want you strictly to watch today.
Try to really study how I do things
and how everything flows together,
because eventually you’re going to
be doing this on your own.” Mark
replied.
Avery could still sense that Mark
was a little annoyed with her. So,
she did what he said and got out of
the way. Everyone was moving so
quickly, and before she knew it they
were getting ready to shoot the
first scene of the day. Mark called
for the actors on his headset, and
to Avery’s surprise, Bethany Grey
made her way onto the set. She
was covered in dirt and fake blood
for the movie, but still happened to
look flawless.
Mark was amazing. She could not
stop watching him. He worked so
effortlessly to capture breathtaking
and heart-wrenching shots. It was
almost like breathing to him. As
if Avery wasn’t already crushing
hard enough on Mark, he had to
prove how much more amazing
he was. Avery was so inspired by
his approach and artistry that she
could hardly wait to get to wear
that headset and direct her first
ever motion picture scene.
“I want you to watch the way you
did today for the next week.” Mark
said to Avery before making his way
over to Bethany Grey.
Although, Avery was jealous
of Bethany Grey and a little
disappointed that she was only
going to be watching the shoots
take place this week, she couldn’t
help but feel happy. Overall, day two
was a much better day for her. Well,
after waking up late and pissing
Mark off, Avery felt more motivated
to show Mark that it was not a
mistake for her to be there. Avery
was going to prove to everyone that
she could make a name for herself
in this industry.
