DONE DEALS Signed, Sealed & To Be Delivered Here's our monthly round-up of new and renewed deals recently signed by show managements, convention centers, CVBs and service contractors to keep you in the know. CONTRACTS GES signed a deal with Middle Eastern event organizer F&E, a Tarsus Group company, to be the group’s official service provider for F&E’s aerospace portfolio. That includes the MEBAA Show and Dubai Airshow as well as co-located shows Aircraft Interiors Middle East (AIME) and MRO Middle East along with education exhibition GESS, set for the Dubai World Trade Center. Smart City Networks signed a two-year contract renewal to provide digital communications services to Tampa Convention Center conventions and trade shows, including IBM Amplify. SPARGO Inc. was named the exposition sales and management partner for APCO International, which hosts the nation’s largest public safety communications conference and exposition for its 2017 event in Denver. Hannover Fairs USA and Newcomb Media USA have partnered to stage the inaugural North American Commercial Vehicle (NACV) show at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta September 27-29, 2017. Two subsequent shows also will be held at the Atlanta venue. In addition, Hannover Fairs USA develops and manages programs at Deutsche Messe events in Hannover, Germany, and in China, India and Turkey. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced several new or extended contracts for events at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). ASD Market Week, produced by Emerald Expositions, signed a deal for both the March and July shows in 2019. The National Kitchen & Bath Association signed a contract to bring its 2019 and 2020 shows, also produced by Emerald Expositions, to the LVCC. The Digital Signage Expo, produced by ExpoNation, will bring its 2019 and 2020 shows to the LVCC in the Spring of each of those years. The World Tea Expo, produced by Penton, will hold its annual event in Las Vegas in 2017; Champs Trade Show, produced by Gage Enterprises, signed on to hold its 2017, 2018 and 2019 trade shows in Las Vegas. PUBCON, a social media and optimization conference, extended its contract for the LVCC for both 2017 and 2018. The 2016 event will be held in October. The 2017 and 2018 events will take place in November. Last, the UFC Fan Expo, produced by Zuffa LLC, signed on to stage its event there last month. PARTNERSHIPS The Convention Sales Professionals International (CSPI) and the Event Service Professionals Association (ESPA) have formed a strategic partnership to expand member education and networking opportunities while providing cuttingedge resources for both groups. The two groups share a common membership mix from hotels, convention centers, CVBs and students in convention sales and event services. Both groups host annual conferences. CSPI most recently held its conference in February in Washington, DC; ESPA held its most recent event in January in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and its 2017 conference is set for January in Austin. Global Pet Expo named Pet Business the exclusive publishing partner for the annual trade show. Pet Business will produce both digital and print show-related publications, including a preview guide, expo directory and daily news. New York City, through NYC & Company, was named the host city partner for the 2017 PCMA Education Conference next June, produced by the Professional Convention Management Association. The Research Chefs Association (RCA) has contracted with SmithBucklin to provide a full slate of association management services. Those will include the appointment of a chief staff executive who will work with the board of directors on operations, membership, the RCA annual conference and regional events. Its most recent conference was in March in Denver. The 2017 annual conference is set for the Puerto Rico Convention Center. The Underwater Intervention conference and exposition partnered with Naylor Association Solutions to provide exhibit sales and logistics for the 2017 conference set for New Orleans in February. The American College of Surgeons partnered with TriStar Publishing to produce event media, advertising and exhibit sales services for its annual meeting, the ACS Clinical Congress set for October in Washington, DC.
