and many others. The sound these guys produce
together is amazing. These guys harmonize to the
highest power! While on tour, with Anthony Hamilton
and Fantasia in Florida, the Hamiltones sat down
with us to provide insight on just who they are, and
not simply put as the voices behind Anthony
Hamilton. The members are J. Vito, Two E, Lelo, and
J.K. Many would believe these guys are all related to
Anthony Hamilton, yet it?s quite the opposite. They
are all artists in their own right; from drummers to
guitarists to producers, which developed into ?one
musical ear? that further evolved into this great
quartet that continues to leave audiences wanting
more. We asked the group how they decided on such
an ironic name. Two E stated, ?A good friend of ours,
Adrienne, played around with the name and then it
just stuck?. The name of the group was inspired by
Adrienne Crutchfield, saxophone player for Prince,
Lionel Ritchie and many other artists. Since the
group represented Anthony Hamilton, the man
behind the music, what?s more fitting than to name
them after such a great artist? Yes, perfect, we must
agree. The ?Soul Stage?, a former place where artists
would meet and perform in North Carolina, has set
the stage for these guys. At this location they
collaborated independently and later joined as a
group. ?We found a way to infuse traditional music
and the rest is history?, said J.Vito. The traditional
gospel music has inspired these guys, singing since
they were in their youth growing up in the churches
of North Carolina. Each of the gentlemen has family
members who attributes to their talent. Having been
exposed to great music even in adolescent years has
led to a great appreciation of music in their adult life.
We asked the quartet who inspired them as artist?
?Put Som e Respeck on It .?
?Oh my goodness, so many have inspired us. Singers
like Andrae?Crouch, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie
Wonder, Michael Jackson, Joe Ligon, D?Angelo, Marvin
Gaye, Kim Burell, Bilal, John Mayer, Tony! Toni! Tone?,
and so many more?. When you see these guys on
stage you will notice several fashion statements.
They wear trends from Kangol hats to Carolina
brimmed Panthers caps, to suits and ties, all
complimenting the great sounds of their artistry.
They are set on representing North Carolina,
especially since they stated there is so much talent in
North Carolina, and they must represent their home
state. The group is very versatile in their style and
dress. The Hamiltones can switch up their style on a
regular basis. During the interview we noticed they
were all sporting their own personal relaxed style
bringing attention to even an African King on a
leather hat. These men are certainly to be respected
as kings. We asked the group what?s the best
statement they could make and inform others as
they grow into their success? ?Anthony always closes
the show with, ?You are never too fly to pray?. We are
trying our best to stay connected to the man
upstairs. You know we party, we are not perfect. But
we always keep that connection?. The guys stated
they are certainly humble and ever so grateful to
Anthony and the guidance and leadership he
provides. They are most certainly enjoying ?the ride?.
