Rolling along historic Route 66, it might be easy to overlook the friendly village of McCook,
population 228, smallest in the county. But that would truly be a shame. Because where town
limits may be small, McCook visitors and residents alike continue to reap the very special
benefits of dreaming big. Really big. The results are something to admire.
Perhaps the best example is the still-new “MAX” McCook Athletic & Exposition Center—the
largest (150,000 square foot) multi-purpose facility of its kind in Chicagoland. A full-sized
outdoor field and the cavernous MAX with the shelter of a 40-foot high, clear-span roof,
brings all-season, all-purpose fun to everyone.
McCook is home to several good restaurants, as well as an expanded library, active Park
District with sports and special interest programs for adults and children, and a scenic
outdoor park, baseball field, and walking path.
MCCOOK MEANS BUSINESS, TOO.
Our Industrial Park includes the likes of Michael Lewis Company, Burke Beverage, Lawson
Products, and more. The business parks house Freeman Expositions and Golden State Foods.
Two soon-to-open spec buildings near 47th and 1st now offer new prime locations.
