Prayer Meeting
Prayer Meeting will be held this Wednesday evening, August 17, at 7:00 pm in conjunction
with our “Back to School Revival.” Our newly installed Associate Pastor,
Pastor Anthony Bolden, will be the speaker. Please plan to be present as we pray,
worship, and fellowship together.
Stewardship Corner
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8)! Did you know that testing
God’s promises actually builds and strengthens the faith of His people? Rather than
dishonoring God, experiments of faith honor His word and power! Notice how spiritual
experiments develop dynamic life. “Real experience is a variety of careful experiments
made with the mind freed from previously established habits and opinions”
(Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 3, p. 69). When God asks us to prove His
faithfulness, He is honored when we “try it out” in real-life experiments. Let our
Tithe and Combined Budget Offering gifts today be a demonstration that we have
proved His faithfulness and blessings to us.
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) Building Project
Please be mindful of our financial commitment to the OAA Building Project. Given
our church obligation of $3,000,000.00, the Oakwood University Church makes a
monthly payment to satisfy this commitment. Let us all support this collective
responsibility through our systematic financial support, which is in addition to our
normal Tithe and Combined Budget Offering. All donations, large or small, are sincerely
appreciated. Kindly mark on your offering envelope, “OAA Building Fund.”
“Restoration 40” - Construction of Family Life Center
In commemoration of the 40th Anniversary (2017) of the completion of the current
OUC edifice, our goal is to complete the construction of our new Family Life Center
in 2017! In support of this, all are asked to reach a minimum goal of $1,000.00 per
person. This can be done through a one time gift, systematic monthly gifts, or the
solicitation of donations from family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and
businesses (in addition to your normal Tithe and Combined Budget Offering). Donations
can be made via your offering envelope and labeled, “Restoration 40.”
Huntsville Association of Retired Adventist Workers (HARAW) Meeting
All HARAW members are encouraged to be present for the next meeting to be held
