It is this love of <strong>Go</strong>d that is expressed in the Incarnation. This is why Jesus was called 'the<br />

lamb of <strong>Go</strong>d slain from the foundation of the world".<br />

Defining <strong>Love</strong>; <strong>Love</strong> is a universally understood concept, yet one that has no true definition.<br />

<strong>Love</strong> is a feeling that can be felt by all human beings, yet not a single one can come up with a<br />

solid definition. How then can we define love?<br />

<strong>Love</strong> is when two hearts interwine bringing crown of life to reality. Yet above it and above all<br />

is the cross that carries the imperfections and problems of the other even willing to die for<br />

one another.<br />

Tzimtzum - Kenosis<br />

This contraction or kenosis (in Greek) or emptying of himself is known as tzimtzum (in<br />

Hebrew). The word used here is "kenosis", and it is a self-renunciation - a transcendence of<br />

ego. At the same time nothing can exist without <strong>Go</strong>d requiring that <strong>Go</strong>d be simultaneously<br />

transcendent and immanent. On the one hand, he is absent from the space. On the other<br />

hand, <strong>Go</strong>d continuously maintains the existence of, and is thus not absent from, the created<br />
