IGP Punjab speaks on law and
order situation in province
LAHORE, Aug 23: Inspector
General of Police (IGP)
Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmed
Sukhera on Tuesday said
there were none and had never
been any ‘No-Go-Areas’ in
the province, In an interview
with the APP here at the
Central Police Office (CPO),
he said the presence of
‘Chhotu-Gang’ was an exception
which remained out of
reach due to its hide-out in the
middle of a river sanctuary
and lack of resources with the
local police.
To a question, the Punjab
Police Chief said there were
no law and order issues in the
province, adding that no cases
of sectarianism were reported,
a situation which was exploited
by the anti-state elements
in the past.He said extremism
had been curbed by the police.
Vis-a-vis religious seminaries,
Sukhera said there
were no unregistered religious
seminaries in the province,
adding that all were registered
RAWALPINDI Aug 23:
ANF in 18 different operations
across the country
recovered 121 Kg narcotics
worth Rs 95 Million in
International Market. The
seized drugs comprised 111
Kg Hashish, 2.3 Kg Heroin,
5 Kg Opium, 2.86 Kg Ice
and 450 Psychotropic
Tablets.
During these operations,
ANF also arrested 25 persons
including 6 ladies
involved in drug trafficking
and seized 4 vehicles. The
operations were carried out
at Lahore, Khushab,
Haripur, Peshawar,
Hyderabad and Karachi.
According to details,
ANF Lahore arrested a lady
drug carrier namely Sadia
Yaqoob resident of Chakwal
and recovered 6 Kg Hashish
from her personal possession.
She was arrested near

riding on a motorcycle near
Niazi Bus Stand, Band
Road, Lahore. Hashish was
concealed in their luggage.
In fourth operation, ANF
Lahore Road Check Team
on pursuance of information
intercepted a car near
Shahpur, District Khushab
and recovered 9.6 Kg
Hashish and 4 Kg Opium
during the search of the car.
A drug trafficker identified
as Muhammad Shahid resident
of Gujranwala was also
apprehended during the
operation. In fifth operation,
ANF Lahore Airport Team
apprehended 2 passengers
identified as Zahoor John
resident of Lahore and
Asima Mazhar resident of
Sahiwal at Allama Iqbal
International Airport,
Lahore, while they were
boarding for Colombo by
Flight No. MJ-186 and
recovered 850 Gram Heroin
concealed in their trolley
bag. During interrogation,
they also confessed of having
ingested Heroin filled
capsules. In sixth operation
ANF Lahore on pursuance
of information, intercepted a
Toyota Corolla car near
Shakhapura bypass, Lahore
Regarding Afghan
refugees, he said there was no
reported presence of the illegal
Afghans in the province,
adding that there was only one
registered Afghan refugee
camp in Mianwali.
About the children kidnappings,
the Police Chief urged
the need for public awareness
regarding the children kidnapping,
stressing there were no
gang reported to be involved
in recent kidnapping of children
cases in the province.
He said only 4 cases of
kidnapping for ransom were
registered during the past year
and all 4 kidnapped children

LHC moved for
cancellation of
MQM registration
LAHORE, Aug 23: Petition
has been filed in Lahore High
Court (LHC) seeking cancellation
of MQM registration.
The petition has been filed by
a local lawyer taking the plea
that MQM chief delivered
speeches against Pakistan.
It was further said in the
petition that MQM was not a
patriotic party and as per constitution
it is binding on every
political party that it must be
loyal to Pakistan.

Terror bid foiled
in Barkhan, huge

QUETTA, Aug 23: The FC
and intelligence agency have
foiled a major terror bid and
recovered huge cache of
weapons and explosives during
a raid in Barkhan area.
On a tip-off, the FC and
intelligence agencies raided at
hideout in Barkhan area on
Tuesday and recovered huge
cache of weapons and explosives.
FC spokesperson said
that eight mines, six kilogram
of explosives, 150 detonators,
three missiles, 60 rocket
launchers, 46 mortars were
recovered from the hideout.

The play began with two
original characters Muna
Lahori as Zakota Jin and

Jadogar. New cast Kazim
of the air-hostess and recovered
half kilogram of gold
from her possession at
Lahore Airport on Tuesday
morning. The air-hostess
was apprehended for investigation.
The airhostess was
assigned the duty on a New
Raza, Javeria Khan, Zoeya,
Arooj Fatima, Bablo
Mastana, Waleed Bin
