Canal & River Trust In a quiet corner along the Regent's Canal... The east side of Kingsland Road bridge on the Regent's Canal was once a sad, overgrown, fly tipped space, regularly used by drug-users or rough sleepers. That was until the Canal & River Trust offered local charity SkyWay the chance to adopt this overlooked stretch of the towpath. The transformation couldn’t have happened without the help of local young people who, under the guidance of the SkyWay team, cleared, designed and planted the garden. It was a chance for them to learn about how their food grows and to feel a sense of ownership and involvement in their environment. The overall sense of this beautiful retreat is a place where the community can come together and enjoy the canal and all that this special garden has to offer.
