ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS<br />

The Town of Rowley Water Department (“Owner”), shall receive<br />

sealed bids at the Town of Rowley Water Department Office, 401<br />

Central Street, PO Box 29, Rowley, Massachusetts for the Construction<br />

of the 401 Central Street Paving and Stormwater Improvements,<br />

Contract No. 2X, until 2:00 pm prevailing time, Thursday, September<br />

15, 20<strong>16</strong>, at which time bids will be opened and publicly read<br />

aloud. Bids submitted after this time will not be accepted.<br />

The Work of this Contract generally consists of grading and asphalt<br />

paving of the parking lot and construction of stormwater best management<br />

practices (BMPs), including sedimentation basins, a grasslined<br />

channel, and an infiltration trench at the Rowley Water Department<br />

(RWD) Office located at 401 Central Street in Rowley.<br />

Copies of the Contract Documents for the work may be obtained at<br />

Nashoba Blue Print, 433 Main St, Hudson, MA, upon presentation of<br />

a company or certified check drawn on a responsible bank or trust<br />

company, made payable to Tata & Howard, Inc., in the amount of<br />

$50.00 per set of specifications and plans. Said payments will be<br />

refunded to bidders upon return of such Contract Documents in good<br />

condition to the issuing office, postpaid if mailed, within 30 days<br />

of the bid opening. Refunds will be limited to two sets of Contract<br />

Documents for each bidder or non-bidder. Contract Documents will<br />

be mailed to prospective bidders upon request and receipt of a<br />

separate company or certified check payable to Nashoba Blue Print<br />

in the amount of $25.00 which will be a non-refundable mailing fee.<br />

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of<br />

5% of the total bid amount and in the form described in the Instructions<br />

to Bidders. A Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment<br />

Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price<br />

will be required in the form described in the Instructions to Bidders.<br />

The bidding and award of the Contract will be under the provisions<br />

of “Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 30, Section 39M (MGL<br />

C.30, S.39M)”. Minimum wage rates as determined by the Director<br />

of the Department of Labor Standards under the provision of the<br />

Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26 to27H, as<br />

amended, apply to this project.<br />
