Schmidt Kitchens in Dorking –<br />
a first class local kitchen studio<br />
John and Anne Glasscocks’ Painted Oak Kitchen from Schmidt Dorking<br />
is a triumph of aesthetics, ergonomics and beautiful design.<br />
Anne recalls ‘We moved in<br />
here about eight years<br />
ago, and although the<br />
kitchen looked very nice when<br />
we first moved in I found it very<br />
impractical. Things were just not<br />
in the right place and some of the<br />
units were getting a bit tired, the<br />
corner units especially - I couldn’t<br />
get in to them as I didn’t have<br />
these special units I have now.’<br />
Anne felt that Schmidt were<br />
‘middle of the road and far better<br />
than the high street retailers. A<br />
lot of the higher market kitchen<br />
suppliers were too expensive. So<br />
it looked like Schmidt Dorking<br />
was the right place for me.’<br />
Anne described the Dorking<br />
Showroom experience as ‘very<br />
good, it was a lovely showroom<br />
to walk around and Eamonn was<br />
also very good, he wasn’t pushy or<br />
didn’t press me into anything, he<br />
was just being helpful. I think that’s<br />
important, not to be pressured,<br />
so many places you visit tend<br />
to pressure you into things.’<br />
‘Eamonn talked me through<br />
every process, it was a pleasant<br />
experience, and rather than being<br />
hassled he gave me plenty of<br />
time to make every decision’.<br />
When asked what Anne’s favourite<br />
part of her new kitchen is she had<br />
this to say- ‘that’s very difficult<br />
because it’s all so nice, I just enjoy<br />
all of it. I don’t think there is any<br />
one thing I can point out. I suppose<br />
the larder units with the drawers.<br />
You don’t have things falling out<br />
of them when you are looking<br />
for something and the deeper<br />
drawers are perfect for storing my<br />
china. It all works and I also love<br />
my corner baskets for getting to<br />
things I couldn’t get to before’.<br />
Anne described Schmidt Dorking’s<br />
installation team as ‘very good,<br />
I must say no problems with<br />
them at all, I think they deal with<br />
things very well, it is all made very<br />
clear right from the beginning’.<br />
It seems as if the Glasscocks have<br />
wasted no time in recommending<br />
the studio to friends ‘Well I<br />
have already recommended<br />
Schmidt Dorking to a friend,<br />
and certainly - I would have no<br />
hesitation in recommending<br />
Schmidt Dorking again’.<br />
