HOMEBUYER EDUCATION CLASSES
NPHS’ HUD-approved Homebuyer Education course is designed for potential first-time
homebuyers who are serious about taking control of the home buying process and want to be
prepared to make the right decisions. These classes take the mystery out of the home buying
process. A Certificate of Completion which fulfills the education requirements for certain loan
and assistance programs is provided upon course completion.
FINANCIAL WELLNESS FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP
Financial Wellness for HomeOwnership counseling sessions help consumers improve their
understanding of personal financial management concepts and services to take action and
improve their financial well-being as part of their first steps towards homeownership.
HOMEOWNERSHIP PRESERVATION
Specialists offer free foreclosure prevention counseling to individuals who may be facing
a possible foreclosure situation. By acting as a liaison between the homeowner and their
mortgage company, NPHS’ highly trained counselors work diligently to help homeowners
afford and keep their home.
REVERSE MORTGAGE COUNSELING
NPHS provides HUD-certified HECM Reverse Mortgage counseling services. Reverse mortgage
counseling assists seniors who want to convert the equity in their homes into income by
providing the necessary information to make an informed decision about Reverse Mortgage
loan products.
ECONOMIC INCLUSION
As a Community Development Financial Institution, NPHS believes that economic inclusion
– the opening of asset building opportunities for underserved social groups – is integral to
the economic and housing development of our region. Economic Inclusion programs include
Financial Wellness for Seniors, Financial Wellness for Homeownership workshops, VITA Free
Tax assistance workshops (seasonal) and more. Programs include both offsite workshops
available upon request for groups, and regularly scheduled on-site workshops.
