Grimsdell Pre Prep gets North London singing!
Now in its fourth year, the North London Singing School Festival, hosted by Grimsdell Mill Hill
Pre-preparatory School, took place in March. Three local schools, The Phoenix, Golders Hill
and Aldenham took part, singing songs together and performing in their respective choirs.
The event was organised by Sing Up – an organisation dedicated to providing excellent singing
provision for schools. The idea is to showcase the power of singing and leave us all inspired.
Grimsdell’s singing has gone from strength to strength, culminating in being praised as
‘excellent’ in singing and music by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Grimsdell’s Toffee Bear
Choir has performed at Barnet Music Festival, at the Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony
Hall and on Classic FM to name a few!
The infant singing festival was a further step to spread singing, and they’re proud to now call
it an annual event. “All the children have a fantastic time,” says Chao Cox, Head of Music at
Grimsdell. “It’s wonderful that we share our singing experience with other schools and bring our
community together.”
Grimsdell Mill Hill Prep School is part of the Mill Hill School Foundation educating children from 3-18.
