focus on schools A unique academy inspiring excellence Nottingham Academy is a 3-19 school proudly serving the communities of Sneinton, Bakersfield, Mapperley and St Ann’s. A £58 million investment in 2011 provided four state-of-the-art sites and this summer we have made an additional investment to create a new sixth form centre on our Greenwood Road site. The inspection report praised developments across the school, highlighting the progress and behaviour of pupils and their engagement in their learning as a particular strength. All aspects of the school were inspected ranging from leadership and management; behaviour and safety of pupils; quality of teaching; achievement of pupils to its Sixth Form provision and found all areas to be ‘Good’. Juniors at Nottingham Girls’ High School – It’s all Brand New The Infant and Junior School at Nottingham Girls’ High School is among the best in the country and is looking forward to an exciting new school year in September. Not only will the girls be returning after the summer, but there will be a brand new look and new Head, Laura Fowler, will be taking up her post. Laura is excited about joining the school, part of the Girls’ Day School Trust, and the only independent day school for girls in Nottingham.
