ICEHOTEL OPENS ALL YEAR!
Yes you read correctly...Sweden’s
famous ICEHOTEL is soon to open
all-year round. A special, separate
building called ICEHOTEL365 is
being erected adjacent to the existing
winter building this November and
will be powered by solar panels.
The new building will feature Art
Suites 365 (same as the Art Suites in
the seasonable building) but they will
be available year-round opening a
whole new world of possibilites when
visiting this beautiful part of Northern
Sweden.
The main attraction for the summer
months in Scandinavia is the
Midnight Sun, offering 24-hour
sunlight and beautiful colours in the
sky. Special summer activities will be
offered including white water rafting
and fishing.
It will of course be a bizarre
experience, with 24-hour sunlight
outside and the opportunity to
sleep in a uniquely designed Art
Suite inside, but then this is after all
Scandinavia, where originality is part
of everyday life.
My recommendation would
be to combine the Tree
Hotel and ICEHOTEL
during the summer.
Both are located in
areas of outstanding
natural beauty,
missed by most when
visiting in winter but
in abundance in the
summer.
The ICEHOTEL and Tree Hotel
can also be combined with stays in
Stockholm. There are many other
opportunities in Scandinavia during

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK
Oliver recently visited Copenhagen
for the second time, a city easily
combinable with Stockholm for a
twin-centre holiday. Both cities
offer an abundance of museums and
galleries with the Louisiana Museum
of Modern Art the highlight of any
visit. Located around 30 minutes
north of Copenhagen it is a good
opportunity to explore more of
Denmark beyond the city.
Ever changing exhibits
push the boundaries
of modern art, all
located in a beautiful
setting with views of
Sweden across the
water on a clear day.
Copenhagen is great
for foodies, visit the
Meatpacking district and
mix with the cool crowd for
imaginative menus and a great
relaxed vibe. Enjoy a cocktail with the
‘it’ crowd at the Skt. Petri Hotel or
more traditional fair along the iconic
Nyhavn with its colourful facades and
beer houses. One of Oliver’s favourite
moments was spending the evening in
Tivoli Gardens (pictured), a beautiful,
charming theme park right in the city
centre, best visited at nighttime.
